March 18, 201016 yr Hi all. Back in FS9, I could set the viewing field to 75% and get what was to me a realistic view of everything. Good view of the instrument panel, GREAT view of the scenery. My problem is that in FSX, I always seem to have my virtual face about 5 inches from the instrument panel! It takes most of the screen! Is there anyway to back away from the panel while maintaining a good looking worldview of the scenery (no fisheye effect)?By the way, this is using the same model of aircraft between the two sims....Thanks,Scott
March 18, 201016 yr Are you in Cockpit view or VC view and is it an FSX aircraft not FS9?Try the default C172 in VC which is the default view in FSX, then try the "-" and "+" keys on your keyboard.

FSX is a little crippled when it comes to that, I also noticed. I keep mine at 50-60%, that gives me good ratio between sharp textures, good perspective and good view of the panel.

Scroll down to EYEPOINT (MOVE BACK) etc. There you can assign a key on the key board to move back and forward and left and right and up and down. I use my arrow keys for left right etc and my Home and End keys for up and down. Also if you have a widescreen monitor edit your fsx.cfg to: WideViewAspect=TrueHope that helps. Only works in the VC.
