A couple of new questions

I've started going through the 747-400 type rating courses and a couple of questions.1. Lesson one mentions that in the PMDG menu under General/Options/Various there should be an item labeled "Ground/Air Power Available" but I don't see any such option in my menu.2. Several of the lessions seem to indicate that my 747 should be at a specific weight and that the performance numbers should match the ones in the text. But I didn't see anywhere how to load passengers and cargo for the tutorial.Thanks in advance.

Hi Dave,Re #1, on my system (FSX), if you select Add-ons in the top level FS menu then navigate to PMDG/Options/Various/Options-Various you will see that you can select having ground power enabled or not.Hope that helps get you off the ground!Re #2, you need to load the Lesson 1 flight files supplied within the zip file first (a Zip within a Zip) . Once the flight files are loaded into FS it should load with the correct fuel (84,000lbs). You can check this through the normal FS fuel options, however loading of fuel is done through the Add-ons/PMDG/Aircraft Fuel.Regards,

Thanks for the response. However it leaves some remaining questions...1. Is the PMDG menu different between the FSX and FS9 versions of the product.2. My concern is the payload configuration that the tutorials expect not the fuel load. How many passengers and how much cargo are supposed to be aboard?Thanks again.

As regards your second point, I do not really think that the payload should be exactly the same. The tutorial will work perfectly even with slightly different numbers; the point is to follow the various procedures and understand the logic of the plane and why you do whatever the tutorial says that you must do.
