js41 engine sounds

Recommended Posts

I would like clarification about the idle engine soundI note that when i pull the throttles back to idle in the js4100 the engines seem to sound like they remain at a very high rpm. The instruments agree with the throttle position but the sound seem out of sync. i.e . The engines just dont sound like they have been reduced to idleMaybe thats the ways it is supposed to be.I have installed the original file and sp1Thanks and just let me know if this is working correctlyThank youPeter

Peter,It's correct. The engines on the J4100 idle at high RPM. When you move the throttles in the J4100, you're controlling propeller pitch, so when you advance the throttles, you'll see an increase in torque as the pitch increases and the blades encounter more air resistance. Propeller RPM is controlled by the condition levers, which have ground and flight positions. On the ground, though, the props will remain at relatively constant speed until you're ready for takeoff and you push the condition levers to FLIGHT. That constant prop RPM is why the sound changes very little.

yea it take some getting used to but im pretty sure thats how they are. Only time I hear a pitch change is just after landing when I use reverse settings. Your right though its great aircraft.
