Hey all I hope someone can help me out here..When I try to install MSFS9 it gets to 4 percent and then I get the error message "cannont transfer Msgame1.cab" and then goes on to say it may be my swap file or possibly the CD itself. I returned the copy and picked up another copy, cleaned my CDROM and checked my swap file which I tried both windows mananged as well as some custom settings. Im still gettting the exact same error durring install...Does anyone know what could be causing this??? One thing I found while messing around was when I transferred the Msgame1.cab file to my HD to try and install from there in a last ditch effort, winzip reports the Msgame1.cab file as being corrupt and cant even move it...this happend on both copies of the game...did I run into a bad "batch" of CD's? Im so frusterated.System:AMD 3100XP1.2 GIG DDR 30007200 40 GIG HDRADEON 9700proHercules sound cardWin xp

I would:1) Make sure you aren't running anti-virus software2) run a scandisk (or chkdsk if on 2000/XP) of your hard drive.3) You could copy the CD to the hard drive first - then install from there - at least to see if it is the CD. I would bet if it is the CD you won't be able to copy.http://saltydogfly2.avsim.net/images/avsim_sig.jpg"I am the keeper of the cheese; you are the lemon merchant"

I struggled with the same. Sometimes I'd get that error on the first disk, sometimes on the 2nd or 3rd. I eventually downloaded cdspeed (trial version) and turned down the speed of my CDRom drive from 48x to 32x. It can be had from www.tonec.com/cdsGood luck. It's pretty frustrating the way it wipes out the entire install...Brent
