I just bought it as a former Debonair owner of 11 years. It is not junk..making blanket statements like that really do not help either simmers or developers and frankly sound like an agenda. In the short time I have tried it there are some things that jump out that I am critical of, and some that jump out immediately as exceptional.I will be getting the Carenado bird too when it comes out. An F33 and a Vtail are two different birds and there is room in my hangar for both of them.

WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!

You know guys, I seem to be following Geofa around the forums today. As you know from this forum, I am eagerly awaiting the Carenado F33A just like at lot of you are. But, yesterday evening I purchased the FSD V-tail V35B for fsx. I am quite happy as one of the new owners of this addon. I have played around with the paintkit and changed the exterior a bit. I have written a few first impressions, also 2nd and 3rd impressions and it seems to grow on you with each flight. Like Geof just stated, its not perfect but I am here to tell you it is not junk.Matter of fact, it is the only v-tail payware available for fsx today. As an owner, I am quite pleased. I actually prefer the looks of the freeware P35 made available to us by Brett Henderson along with a slightly modified paint scheme from the Touchdown club. See below. Now, as a tinkerer, when I added for personal testing purposes, new sound files that I purchased recently and a new airfile that I also purchased very recently to my favorite freeware V-tail with the perferred personal paint job, and my customized pop-ups along with my favorite autopilot that I also purchased somewhere else recently - I have a near perfect V-Tail bonanza. Now, no matter how good or not so good the Carenado F33A will or will not be, it will have a vertical tail and that makes it a different bird.I see nothing wrong with a nice, pretty, old, but recently designed for fsx bonanza sitting along side a as of now unknown final designed F33A straight tailed bonanza in my hanger.I am going to repeat (actually just copy) a piece of a post a made a couple of hours ago in the AVSIM FSX forum. "this reminds me of the Liberty Mutual insurance commercial on TV. The full minute is people being polite to one another and then passing it on. One good deed seems to generate another, and another, etc. Wouldn't it be great if it worked like that in the AVSIM forums."A lot of good people spent a lot of hard hours bringing us this addon. I for one, think just out of common courtesy, they deserve something better than having someone that is active on many forums call their work junk. Maybe, just no comment at all would be more appropriate. The developer has stated in the FSX forum that anyone who purchases the V35 for fsx that is unhappy with the purchase can get an immediate refund, after all it was just introduced less than 24 hours ago.Sorry about getting on the soap box, but, I just think we are all sometimes a little to quick with the <Enter> key.Cheers,RayMRaysBonanza.jpg

Flightsim.com, pcaviator, flight1, FSD intl. Lionheart :( Most of my avionics came in some plane or another. I have the Friendly Panels avionics package for the Mooney Meggitt, the GPS pack, and the Navigation pack. They were on sale for 1/2 around Christmas. The Whittman Tailwind came from TheDealOTheDay which is the download shop for PCAviator that has daily 1/2 offs - it was something like $7.98, absolutely wonderful AP. The Eaglesolft stuff has great avionics. When you find something you really like just make a note of where else it would be nice. All this is just for you though, no sharing.Download the free Navion2, it has really good stuff.RayM

If there is anything specific you wish to know about the Bonanza setup, send me a pm and I will give you more info. Thanks. The V35B with the terrific sound and airfile can be purchased at http://www.fsd-international.com/Hangar/V35B/RayM

The VC doesn't look pretty. FSD has made some fantastic ones in the past, like the Porter and 337, but I can't say I like the look of this one. I'll wait.and perhaps I won't even get the Carenado. Accusim and such has spoiled me - even though Accusim is supposedly a bit too overly sensitive - and I really miss damage modeling and real consequenzes when you mistreat a plane. With Carenado and FSD you can keep the throttle at max and nothing happens. Throw the flaps or gear down at VNE, and nothing happens. I hope more manufacturers will pick up on such things.Whatever floats your boat, it's not for me. In Norway we say that "taste is like the bum. It's split." :(

Tell me more about the norwegian saying "taste is like the bum. It's split." :( Do you have any misspelled words there? What does that mean? Thanks (Tusen Takk)RayM

747-fan,I'm not sure you are correct about the FSD V35 here. Please review this graphic that I captured. The small text says you will pay for overtaxing the engine, poor maintenance, etc. There is a long list of items that are montitored and controlled, and you can change values, choose to reset or override, etc. This is in the Load Manager for the model.Load_Mgr.jpgRayM

Gents, there is one point I'd like to bring up in this thread. Presumably, Carenado is paying Avsim for the use of their forums for official product support. There's no reason why we can't have a long discussion about the merits and pitfalls of the FSD Bonanza in the general forum, but it seems a little out of place here in the Carenado section. I don't mean to be the forum police, but I know that in many other product forums, it's strictly forbidden to advertise a competitor's wares. Without finger pointing, I'd like to respectfully suggest that this isn't the place to discuss FSD products.EDIT: The thread was moved to the general forum, so please ignore my comment above.
