April 21, 201016 yr The VC doesn't look pretty. FSD has made some fantastic ones in the past, like the Porter and 337, but I can't say I like the look of this one. I'll wait.and perhaps I won't even get the Carenado. Accusim and such has spoiled me - even though Accusim is supposedly a bit too overly sensitive - and I really miss damage modeling and real consequenzes when you mistreat a plane. With Carenado and FSD you can keep the throttle at max and nothing happens. Throw the flaps or gear down at VNE, and nothing happens. I hope more manufacturers will pick up on such things.Whatever floats your boat, it's not for me. In Norway we say that "taste is like the bum. It's split." :(I am just curious-I have been a Bonanza/Baron driver for 17 years now-I have never, ever been anywhere near VNE (in the Baron 223 knts)-in fact rarely venture into Vno (in the Baron 182 knts)Why would it be important to model this? I highly doubt the test pilots ever threw the gear and flaps at VNE so there would be no data anyway to model what would happen which most likely would be fatal anyway.I agree the vc is not up to the top standards of artistry available today, but on the other hand the flight model is top notch and the closest I have experienced so far to the real thing when of course flying with normal parameters. That alone is worth a lot at least to me.Gents, there is one point I'd like to bring up in this thread. Presumably, Carenado is paying Avsim for the use of their forums for official product support. There's no reason why we can't have a long discussion about the merits and pitfalls of the FSD Bonanza in the general forum, but it seems a little out of place here in the Carenado section. I don't mean to be the forum police, but I know that in many other product forums, it's strictly forbidden to advertise a competitor's wares. Without finger pointing, I'd like to respectfully suggest that this isn't the place to discuss FSD products.EDIT: The thread was moved to the general forum, so please ignore my comment above. Thanks for the heads up on needing to move it. I have been visiting the forums mostly on my iphone lately and I don't always catch some details! Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!

I have been visiting the forums mostly on my iphone lately and I don't always catch some details!True, VNE isn't perhaps the best example of damage modelling. I'm not even a RW pilot. But I do know that I'm looking for planes that make me feel like taking care of it, not "kick the tires and light the fires" or in FSX " press ctrl+e, press F7, press F4 and away we go" kind of planes where you can get away with anything. Do you really need the engine run up? Do you really need to monitor oil pressure and CHT in flight? Do you need to monitor airspeed before dropping flaps or gear to avoid jams? Of course you can and should do those things and a lot of other things as well, as they're in the checklists. But as long as you're only doing it because you "can" and not because you "have to", the whole plane doesn't quite invite treating it with the respect I'm sure you who fly real planes do. That to me isn't "as close as it gets" anymore, not after the technology for modeling it has been invented. I want to feel slightly intimidated by the plane, as in "if I don't do this by the book, it'll jump up and bite me." Something that makes me want to fly it with respect. I hope you get where I'm getting at, it's a bit hard to explain. It's more of a feeling than a fact.As I said, "Smaken er som baken", for those who speak Norwegian. If you like it, then go for it. I'm sure it flies by the numbers and all, the different FSD planes I've tried do have unique FDEs.

We have been providing free forums and bandwidth for those forums, for years...I'd like to add that the Mods aren't linked to any dev and thus are totally free to tell their thoughts about a company or a product. They don't know who is advertizing or not, and they never received (thanks God for that!) any instruction to "protect" anyone's interests. That being said, I always received a very good support from FSD as a customer, and think they deserve more respect for their work.Just my 2 c. - PC Hardware: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D // Asus ROG Crosshair X870E HERO // 2x32Gb Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5 6000MT/s CL30 // ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090 OC Edition // 4Tb Corsair NVMe M.2 MP600 // Corsair 1600W PSU Samsung Odyssey Arc 55" curved 165 Hz monitor. - Simulator Hardware: VIRPIL Constellation Alpha Prime + VIRPIL VPC Universal Control Panel - #3 + MOZA AY210 Force Feedback Yoke + WINWING URSA MINOR 32 Throttle & PAC Metal + WINWING SKYWALKER Metal Rudder Pedals + WINWING Airbus FCU & EFIS + WINWING Boeing 3N PAP + WINWING MCDU-32 + WINWING PFP-4 + WINWING PFP 3-N + WINWING PFP-7.
April 21, 201016 yr FSD's Bonanza is definitely not "junk". It flies beautifully, sounds great, and is quickly becoming a favorite. These "generalizations" about a company are just that - and certainly does not apply to everything. I love Carenado too, but is EVERYTHING from them up to your standards with value and price? Probably not. I've heard lots of criticism that their panels are too similar looking. I don't agree with that, but I've read it on these forums. There's no perfect company or product. AND there's no perfect customer. That's just the way it is.The FSD 115 never has given me any problems, and their latest update makes it even better. Just try keepin' it real.Stan
April 21, 201016 yr Junk...you have been warned. Stay far away from FSD.Save your $ for Carenado quality. What a crap remark, you don't even have the airplane pipo!I bought and it's great. Moreover FSD service is great and responsive.

If you damage it, you have to pay the payware vendor a fee for "fixing" it. If you crash it, it automatically deletes itself from the hard drive and you have to purchase it again. That would make flying by the book in FS a little more realistic.I'm kidding and do support what you are saying about needing some consequences to our FS flying. In the end, though, it all happens in our minds anyways.Randall
