performance on my xp1800

Recommended Posts

HelloMy computer is a XP 1800, 512 MB RAM, Geforce 3 titan graphics card. I wonder what performance I can expect with FS 2004 on my system. FS 2002 is running very well.Is there a lot to gain by upgrading my processor to an XP 2600?Thanks in advanceTHomas

You should be able to achieve comparable performance to FS2002 on your system using comparable settings. Outside of weather, my system actually performs better.Caveats:- 3d clouds come at a signifigant performance penalty. You will not have comparable performance in cloudy conditions unless you do some tuning of other settings or make some dramatic changes to your cloud quality.- Some settings, such as autogen, have been changed to include higher levels of detail than comparable settings with FS2002. For example, normal autogen is closer to the old "dense" autogen.A CPU upgrade will always make FS2004 happy. It's hard to say how happy, though. It might become a tug of war as to who is the botteneck-your CPU or your video card.
