How would this CPU, vid card combo work for FSX? Thanks in advance!Intel Core i5-660 Clarkdale 3.33GHz LGA 1156 73W Dual-Core Desktop Processor Model BX80616I5660and my old 8800GTOh yeah, my current processor is an e6600 no ocing, what kind of gains could I expect to get with the new CPU mentioned above?- Jeff

I'd guess you'd see gains in the 30-40% neighborhood, but you'll need to assign core affinity manually or disable hyperthreading to avoid thread collisions which will cause stuttering.

After doing some more research, I'm going to go with the i7 930, need a new mobo and some faster ram, will keep the 8800gt until the price comes down on the gtx 470s. At ibuypower they have a gamer pc with the above processor, 1 TB HD, liquid colling, all for less than a grand even with dominator ram, no os though and a last gen ati card.Wish I had a kid so I had a bigger tax return so I could buy the i7/980X though, will have to talk to my girlfriend about that though.Thanks for your help Max.- Jeff

The EVGA GTX 470 is $370, and the PNY GTX 470 is $350 at Fry's Electronics. The EVGA GTX 285 is $420 from Fry's.
