May 22, 201016 yr 737-800 landing in rain overshoots the runway. One has to think that poor pilot training / dicpline and/or poor airport facilities are to blame here. I doubt it was the 738's issue.Mark. Mark CYYZ
May 22, 201016 yr From what I've read, no rain, weather not too bad. Seems aircraft touched down long, no idea why so far. Note that VOML in FS9/FSX does not have the incident rwy 06/24. An AFCAD for FS9 is in the library.scott s..
May 23, 201016 yr Initial inputs suggest airline's norms on soft landings might have put pilots under pressure causing long float resulting in overshooting of threshold. ATC says plane was fast. the plane touched and braked hard then tried to take off again but was too late - pilot lost control - plane veered left - hit the rwy24 loclizer foundation & broke right wing - broke thru arpt boundry -fell from cliff - disintegrated into three on falling and caught fire.a normal landing of another aix b738w on rwy24, notice the cliff b4 airport begins
