Overflying a fix

Recommended Posts

Hi,I have added some waypoints along an VORDME approach in the LEGS page of the FMC of the 737-800.These are RCA336/13, RCA336/9, RCA336/3 ...But one of it has to be overflying before beginning turn to the next. How to make that in the 737-800 FMC ?Thanks a lotGilles Menghetti.

Perhaps the easiest way is to create another fix 1 nm past the original LAM/+1......obviously the flyover would indicate a change in course....... not along course.....so perhaps it would be better to insert LAM270/1....the 270 being the original course heading......this way the aeroplane overflys Lambourne and THEN turns to the next waypoint.SIDs and STARS can be preprogrammed with flyovers.....but for heads down dirty work- the above suffices.

Gilles,Carl describes the easy way and it works well. However, I recommend opening up the .txt file and re-writing the approaches yourself. It isn't as complicated as it seems.Bon vols! :(
