Sound looping of FSX ai sounds

Featured Replies

I have set up soundai folders for virtually every ai aircraft type by modifying the soundai.cfg file for default fsx aircraft, putting it into the relevant ai aircraft folder and then mapping it to relevant sounds from freeware add-on sound packages - the overall effect is superb, as the FSX ai sound engine generally deals well with doppler and surround effects relative to the user aircraft. However, one problemt that continues to annoy me is that certain aircraft will be playing the engine sound for high/take-off thrust, when it should be at idle whilst holding for take-off or taxiing. I believe it is a problem caused by sound looping. Pressing "Q" to disable sound completely in FSX, and then again to switch it back on, appears to get rid of he looping for most of the ai aircraft, but not for my A320 CFM sound, where you can still hear the roaring take-off sound.Anyone else had problems with sound looping, or any ideas how to fix. The soundai.cfg I use for the A320 CFM sound is exactly the same as the one I use for A320 IAE which never loops. I therefore assume the problem must be an FSX fault, or something to do with the relative sizes, or content of the .wav files which the soundai.cfg is referencing. Thanks in advance.Rob Schofield
