Help, I still run FS2004 in 16 color!

I have just installed a Radeon 3D card in this machine. It is a Dell Optiplex G1100 with integrated display card. After numerious reboots I finally managed to install the new Radeon. The problem is the machine boots up, Windows 2000 boots up, and then the screen goes blank. If I remove the monitor connector and put it back into the onboard display socket, I can see something on the screen again! It seems that although I have set the settings in the BIOS on video adapter to auto, it somehow turns back to the onboard adapter after booting up. How can I totally disable the onboard card? As I said in the BIOS I only have two settings, Auto and On.Thanks

i would check www.dell.nl (or .com or .jp or .tk or whatever ;-) ) to see if you are allowed to enter a new vidcard in that machine....i've had a dell optiplex gx500l,and i was told i could NOT replace the onboard 4mb vidcard,however,after searching the dell site i found i could by downloading a small bios update.on the dell site you can have them do a system check,after which they'll reccomend various updates,which you can find there.it can also be you have to set cmos to a different setting,by moving the jumpers....check the manual for that.hih
