No Visable AI or Static Aircraft in CYQQ or CYYJ

Featured Replies

Hi fellows.I followed the detailed manual launcher install quite closely. Ticked all the boxes as was directed. Loaded up FSX and both airports are installed correctly and are compatible with FTX-PNW as was advised in the manual. I have the enable I double checked the scenery library file and entries are correct and show properly in the FSX GUI.Went to the actually Addon Scenery folder, traffic files are located in the active scenery folders of the World>Scenery for CYYJ and under the sub folder for CYQQ.I also moved the scenery priority to conform to the install requirements. The AI aircraft are located in the SimObjects>Aircraft sub folder. The airport structures and terrain are fantastic as they should be - but no planes. But, I have no static aircraft, no aircraft museum, no AI?I can't figure out why? Any ideas please?

Can't help but wonder if you have tried contacting the author - Don Grovestine - for help on this issue. He has always been very responsive to questions I have had.EDIT Added:I also noted this in Don's readme for CYQQ:*************** CYQQ (2010) Readme ***************** * * * CAUTIONARY NOTE * * * *It has been reported that certain of the vintage AI included in CYQQ (2101) are incompatible with FSX. In the most severe case, FSX wouldn't even start with these AI enabled. However, most users are able to display the AI normally. Should you experience similar difficulties, you should delete/disable the file "traffic_CYQQ (Museum)_FSX.bgl". Alternately, experienced users could disable individual aircraft by changing their AI "Title" or modify that traffic file to include only the following AI which appear not to cause problems:- CF-101 Voodoo (CYQQ Museum)- CF-101 Voodoo (CYQQ Gate)- CP-107 Argus (CYQQ Museum)- CC-129 Dakota (CYQQ Museum)

Thanks Opa, no I have yet to contact Don. I read the support web pages to see if I could find anything in there to help. I hoped the issue was simple and I might just be missing something that another user might be able to advise me on rather than bother the author.I did read that message, I just can't believe it won't work properly. So I will assume that I am one of the unluckly guys and try tinkering with the files to see what's up. It's so hard to believe that some folks would not be able to see them and others would. My system is very stable and set up as it should on a new high end computer with high end video card.Perhaps it would be useful if I laid out exactly what my situation is in terms of file locations and scenery library and send to Don and see if he has a solution.
