It's a minor classic in FS, and a genuine classic aircraft in the real world of course. It's also a bargain too, since it ain't that expensive.To expand on that, it is a very detailed and realistic simulation of the DC-2, and you will have to fly the thing properly and also manage the engines realistically to get where you want to go (unless you happen to enjoy engine fires). It's an interesting stable mate to the MAAM DC-3 as well, since it makes it apparent how refined the DC-3 became in comparison to its earlier incarnation.It has a great VC, good interior detailing in general, plus a few nice graphical tricks up its sleeve too, such as the flags you can fly from the cockpit. External paint jobs are nice as well. If you like things such as the A2A B-17 and Stratocruiser, MAAM DC-3 and Aerosoft Catalina, then you should regard your collection of classic old props as incomplete until you get the Uiver DC-2, as it is pretty much on par with those.Highly recommended for anyone who likes old prop classics.Al

I strongly second this recommendation. This is well worth the money and it's for a good cause. Normally I fly the MAAM DC-3 but after switching to FSX I have been flying this DC-2 until the FSX version of the DC-3 is ready.

Pretty nice vid with some good tips on flying the thing too. As you can see from that vid, it confirms what I was saying about watching the temps on those engines!As an interesting footnote, the Uiver DC-2 is a useful choice in Air Hauler as well (if you have that), since it is quite affordable early on in a career and although it doesn't carry a huge amount of cargo, it makes those early career-building flights a lot more interesting than they might otherwise be. It won't be a wasted acquisition when you can fly something bigger either, since any newbie pilots you hire will be able to get into it pretty soon thanks to its fairly low MTOW in the grand scheme of things, so it can continue to earn its keep whilst your newbie pilots get their hours up.Al

The actual 'Uiver' DC-2 lives only 40Kms away from my home in Albury NSW. It needs restoration and funding for this is being sought. It stood as a gate guardian at Albury airport for years before being put in storge to prevent further deterioration.

Is there a Uiver support formun anywhere. I find the manual has some 'holes' like how to rotate the props, charge the batteries, find the external battery cart. Still have not managed to start it up. I will keep working but any help will be appreciated.
