Hey guys... I've come to the conclusion that the TIR clip pro is a little flimsy and needs to be more solid. I just realized the two times I dropped my entire headset from about knee level (while sitting in my chair) so call it 1.5 ft, that one of the tiny clips inside the unit (behind the center LED) has broken off! So now the little arm holding the LED's won't stay in one spot. Has anyone run into this problem or am I the ONLY person who has dropped their headset onto carpet???My wife will kill me if I have to drop money on a new clip pro.... UUUUGH!!!Please anyone have suggestions?

There is always the cap with reflectors, been using it for years and it works fine.

Perhaps you shouldn't be so clumsy? :( Sorry Ryan - I TRIED to resist saying that but I just couldn't pass that one up!

John, Do they sell a cap with the reflectors already attached? I'm always afraid I'll answer the front door with the Track IR hardware on my hat and someone will think I'm an idiot! :(

There are many that would argue that peeps who play with Flightsims (and other PC educational or entertainment software) are idiots anyway. I have managed to accomplish what your suggested and have been asked what it was on my head (in the early days before 6DOF I had a single reflector soldered to the bridge of my glasses). After explaining what the magic did peeps were in wonder at my supposed cleverness. I don't use headphones or the trackir clip because I hav enough cables running from my PC to my operating chair as it is. Current practise is that the clip is in bracket form that will fit onto the peek of most "Golf" style hats. I got my own black hat from naturalpoint in the early days. If I was worried that someone would think that I look like an idiot I would have spent my whole inside a cave. Never have worked never got married and had kids never retired etc. Even if I used a clip I would still have a hat reflector around as a backup.

I hear what you're saying but In dropped the thing onto carpet from like knee height. It shouldn't break off... the piece are so flimsy and plastic is the problem I fear.

I had the same thing happen to me-and had to order a new one...it is rather flimsy.I had a brainstorm tonight. I love the unit and what it does but have never been comfortable with the head wear. The hat gave me bad hair for a week and a headache and the clip with headsets though a little better did ditto not to mention the ridicule from my wife. I find I use seldom use tracker ir because of this and and that is a drag because tracker ir increases reality 100%.Tonight I tried something. In my old age I now need reading glasses for close up work so I clipped the tracker clip to my reading glasses. Though flimsy-it worked-and no headache and no bad hair. Then it occurred to me-how about one of those ear clips like a bluetooth earpiece-glue the tracker clip to it-no more headache etc?I'd love to see a new bluetooth wireless tracker ir that is simply a clip to an ear like a bt phone clip with no wires (and my new puppy chewed thru one set of them already).Until that comes out-I think I am gonna get an ear clip and glue the tracker ir to it.

Great idea on the staple job! Then I can walk around and tell everyone I have a new transducer pi-meson radon enabled bt headset and be envied by everyone-not to mention start a new style/look. :(
