Yoke Sensitivity Problem in Win 7

Recommended Posts

I haven't used FSX for over a year, but I got a new computer with Win 7 (config below) and installed it. I use a CH Flight Yoke LE, and I've always had problems with control sensitivity, but it seems as though the sensitivity settings don't work at all!As you can see from the attached, the controller is enabled, the correct controller is shown in the Controller Type field, the sensitivity settings are very low, and the null zone settings are high. Even so, it takes only the slightest movement of the yoke to send me veering wildly in one direction or the other. How can I make the Sensitivity and Null Zone controls work? Thanks,Barney

Have you putStick_Sensitivity_Mode = 0in your FSX.CFG file [CONTROLS] section?

BarneyYou really need to set the semnsitivity full right (100) and the null zone full left (0) for ALL axes to get the right effect in FSX irrespective of the OS. If you just want "simple" controls, you should also use the CH software in Direct mode and assign your axes and calibrate each one in Windows. If you post a message to Bob Church on CH_Hangar forums he will explain how this works. If you have FSUIPC 4 you can 'fine tune" any axis to make it perform more accurately. One other point make sure that you have NO duplicate axes entries for any controller, mouse keyboard, etc, otherwise you will have problems, like those that you describe!Good luckPeterH

I remember doing that for FS9, is that still relevant to fsx?

I thought I had said I wanted email notification of replies to my post, but I guess I didn't. I will now go away and try your suggestions, for which I am most grateful.Barney

Um... my FSX.CFG file has only the following in the [CONTROLS] section:[CONTROLS]Controls_Default=StandardControls_Current=StandardKBDAIL=64KBDELEV=64KBDRUD=64And a search on Stick_Sensitivity_Mode (with and without underscores) and on "Stick" and "Sensitivity yield no results.I don't understand!

you need to ADD it as the last line in your FSX.CFG [CONTROLS] section.Just open the file in notepad or whatever and add it - save it and that's it.

Just increase the sensitivity and decrease the null zone. It should be fine without the extra cfg enties.

Gentlemen, I appreciate your help!I added the line in the .cfg file, and was able to set the sensitivities and null zones to something that works for me. I know this will make FSX a far more enjoyable experience. Thanks,Barney
