dme arc in approach segment

Hi,Looking for examples for the transparant flightplan, i need a few airports with an dme arc in the approach.Left and right arcs.Jan

I didn't know FS default approaches had DME arcs.

Well, now I know you've never read the GNS530/430 or G1000 manuals I wrote, because each one has an illustrated example of flying a DME arc! :(

Like I have time to read???? And the autopilot follows the arc?

Yes, the AP follows quite nicely... Depending on the initial turn into the arc it may be necessary to reduce speed to min maneuver. Go too fast and the AP cannot make the turn and you'll end up 5+ NM off the arc. Roman

I just finished completing my Instrument Currency on Wednesday. Air Orlando asked if I would fly to Ft. Lauderdale Execurtive (KFXE) to pick up a battery for an aircraft undergoing an annual. I completed the ILS RWY 8 at KFXE, picked up the battery, completed the VOR RWY 11R with 7mi arc R147 at Vero Beach (KVRB), had some lunch at C J Cannons, and finally, completed the GPS RWY 7 at Orlando Executive (KORL) for a total of 4.8 Hobbs, .4 actual, 1.5 hood.The aircraft is a C172S-G1000 with the garmin integrated autopilot. Yes, the autopilot is really an improvement over the earlier KAP140. Yes, the autopilot can fly the approaches, but, could Bill fly the approaches? Yes, I can but not as smooth as good old OTTO.

Hi,In the mean time i found a lot of examples, but it is almost impossible to write some code that represents the arc, because all are different in start- and endpoint and radius.So i stopped looking for a way and ended using a simple direct-to line....Jan
