June 30, 201015 yr I mostly fly short/mid-haul on Vatsim, but i really enjoy flying long range with the Queen :( . Is there any other ways to fly-haul on VATSIM instead of sitting in front of the computer all the way? Especially when cruising? :( Frank Z. C

I don't fly more than 5-6 hours at a time if I can avoid it because it simply is waisting too much time. I try and keep my flights in the 3 hour and under range with about an hour of preflight planning and safety checks/setup. Shane Gavin
June 30, 201015 yr ... on Vatsim ... Is there any other ways to fly-haul on VATSIM instead of sitting in front of the computer all the way?frank:well that is how real pilots do it ... :( VATSIM allows you to connect, takeoff, reach cruise, disconnect, fly OFF-line, reconnect, descent, approach ... (etc).details on VATSIM's support forum (a search will give you LOTS of hits) -http://forums.vatsim.net/as already stated you CANNOT leave your 'cockpit' for more than for a potty break when connected. never leave the cockpit when in crowded airspace or when approaching/departing an airport.-- D. July 1, 201015 yr Commercial Member At cruise or less busy airspace, you should not leave a connection unattended for 30 min or else you may be talking to a Supervisor like myself :) Kyle Weber (Private Pilot, ASEL; Flight Test Engineer)Check out my repaints and downloads, all right here on AVSIM
July 2, 201015 yr Commercial Member frank:well that is how real pilots do it ... :(Except real long haul flights have as many as 3 relief crews... individual pilots are not sitting in the cockpit for 14 or 15 hours.
