Wow. When did this hobby become so dramatic?
Frustration = Dramatics to some, Daryl :(

Really? Frustration = Dramatics? I don't recognize that equation.I do understand THIS equation: Conflict = Drama.

I have tried asking on the LDS forum in the past, but it gets deleted. They state quite clearly that any 757 posts will be deleted......so given the ridiculous atmosphere on this forum, I am deleting my profile on here.........I have better things to do with my life. All the best to you chaps!!!!!!!!:(
The "official" LDS forum is about as worthless as this one. I am not talking about AVSIM in general here, there are many great places here at AVSIM. Just anything in general about Level D is annoyingly unhelpful in terms of "support"

I did get some help from fellow simmers over there yes, as Flight Simmers tend to be a very eager to help bunch, and that is great. As for Mr S, I understand why he gets called arrogant. I had two issues, fairly big ones, one where the GRD Button would crash to desktop, and one where the VC would vanish in flight, and all I get is links to stickies on the top of the forum and very little in terms of official help. And being told my issues with the FMS getting blown out after the failed engine start that comes with using Accel. was a minor thing that I shouldnt worry about. It took going to the PMDG forum to fix both those things, as the FMS issue was one that I thought I had been able to develop a workaround for but could not get it to work on a consistent basis. Now I have owned the Level D 76 for a long time now, it is very fun to fly, and anyone wanting a 767 for FSX I would say to them to check it out, but I cannot say, from my own personal experience, which my be an exception to the rule, and when I compare that to my experiences with other companies like FS2Crew, Radar Contact, and of course PMDG, that the Level D support is quality.

You can please all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot please all the people all the time. You want support, come to the OFFICIAL forum. You want to complain, come to the OFFICIAL forum.

Because of piracy, developers are forced into only supporting customers that have actually bought their product. It is right and proper for daryl to insist that he will only provide support on his forum. No one else seems to have an issue with that apart from you sir.The reason for an Unofficial Forum is to enable other people that are not owners, therefore unable to post and are interested in buying the product to obtain an opinion on it. Others may want tips on flying the product that doesen't need official support.Daryl Shutt looks into here occasionally, out of the goodness of his heart but do not expect official support from him, here. He's a wiser man than that. :(

That is because daryl has answered the same question so many times he is tired of people that cannot/willnot use the 'search' function before posing a question.Don't forget that daryl also has a full time occupation and comes here in his limited free time. :(

Thanks for the assist, Dave.THIS FORUM is here for the original Wilco published PIC767.When Wade, Laurent and Pedro started their own company - Level-D Simulations - with the release of a new FS2004 version based on the PIC767, they wanted PIC767 customers to KNOW that the LDS767 had been produced and was available from Flight1 Software. They also decided that support would only be afforded to licensed users who have proof of purchase. That is not possible at AVSIM.Therefore, this forum remains for the PIC767 and as a link to the new forum for the LDS767.I can confidently offer support on the licensed knowing that everyone is an actual customer.

All the hullabaloo aside, the 757 is really late, late, late off the mark. Some kind of "where we're at with it all" post, this year, wouldn't be a far-fetched request. No point in being the Gran Tourismo 5 of FS addons!

I lauhed out loud after reading this. But to be fair, there are a few developers who seem to be in the running for that one. Radar Contact and their version 5 has been promised for about a year, PMDGS 737 NGX has been promised for more like two (or even more) years. It seems like the only guys who seem to consistantly update their products are HiFi with Active Sky (seem to update it with new versions or SPs two times a year), and REX who have just released another massive update with Overdrive. It just seems that due to the size of the market, that the developers all have day jobs, and the work involved to keep pace with the progress that has been made in addons, making things for FSX is really really hard.
