Installation On Other Than XP Hard Drive ?

Recommended Posts

I have a PC with 120GB hard drive which is dedicated to FS and has both FS2004 and FSX on it already. About 20 GB atill available - definitely not enough space left for X-Plane.Can I put in a second hard drive and install and run X-Plane from it or will that cause performance or other problems? Thanks,Steve

It's always best to install X-Plane on the desktop of your computer. However, as it does not add any registry entries to your computer, you can install it anywhere on any hard drive. To avoid any complications, DO NOT install it in a "Program Files" folder. Install it straight on the root directory of the Hard drive. I have the same problem you are talking about and my X-Plane is installed on F:/X-PlaneWorks fine.Goran

Indeed, the structure of X-Plane is so good that I'm able to run it even from an external usb hard drive and I don't notice any performance degradation.Alex
