Stabilizer Trim Issues with the 747-400 Queen of the Skies

Featured Replies

Hi,So I recently purchased the PMDG 747X Queen of the Skies (boxed) from Best Buy. I have mastered all of the default FSX aircraft and have got most of the procedures for the PMDG 747 sorted out as well. In my view, it is a quality product. There's only one problem- In a lot of the Youtube videos and tutorials I watched relating to this aircraft, I have seen the narrators being able to operate the vertical stabilizer trim. However, on my 747 (every engine type/ -400 and 400F), when I mouse over the trim indicator to set the trim, no text appears saying what trim setting I have. Fair enough, I can read the little numbers on the indicator, but the real problem is: the trim can't be set or modified in any way at all! I have tried mousing over and clicking the indicator (like shown in various tutorials I have viewed) but there is no effect whatsoever! This is quite annoying when I'm trying to set the trim for takeoff or even when flying manually, because the trim will always be at too high a setting, and the plane will be constantly trying to nose up at about 2 degrees/second with the surfaces in clean config. at 220 kts (3000 feet MSL)! The end result is that I have to be pushing down on the stick significantly to maintain level flight! :( If anyone has any questions or has had a similar problem, please, don't hesitate to reply. I don't know if I am just doing something wrong or if the aircraft has a serious flaw. Regards,Dylan
