August 4, 201015 yr Hi, most of my flying is done between Ireland and the UK, making Cork one of my premier destinations. I've always used the ISFD Irish scenery, one peculiarity of which seems to be that both Cork (EICK) and Knock (EICN) are elevated on a rather large plateau, neither of which is true in real life. See screen-shot.Is there a way to flatten these? I'm using a variety of add-on .bgl files (mesh, landclass, I'm not sure...) but it doesn't seem to make much of a difference!

What you are seeing is not uncommon when you have a terrain enhancement installed. The airport elevations (and associated airport property flattens) are based on published data. The terrain enhancement's elevation for airport areas is often quite different - resulting in depressed or elevated airports such as you have discovered. One "work-around" is to create a much larger "flatten" so the elevation change is further away from the airport property and blends more subtly into the surrounding terrain.I use the free FSTflatten utility by Steve Greewood to create large flattens of irregular shapes. If interested, you can get it here:http://home.earthlink.net/~smgreenwood/welcome.shtmlClick on the Resources tab at the top Right of the screen to see a short list of available utilities.Hope that helps. :(
