August 5, 201015 yr I've just bought the Wilco A380 for FS9/FSX, and so far I'm not impressed. I cannot even work through the tutorial flight because the FMC does not behave as described in the manual. I can't access things like the "INIT B" page, enter aircraft weights etc., nor can I select runways for takeoff or landing.I wonder whether this is because the realism setting is set to "Beginner", but I cannot change this because I can't find the Wilco Airbus Config utility anywhere on my computer. (I've looked under the drop-down menus along the top of FS9, and I've also gone to XP Start\All Programs\Wilco Publishing\A380, but all I can find there are four pdf files and the uninstall utility.)I've contacted Wilco, but their advice was: "May I ask you to refer to the manual which states how to get it?" Needless to say, it doesn't....All in all, I'm very disappointed with the package, especially as I thought their E-jets were good (which is why I bought this). It seems that even basic controls such as APU Bleed Air and Autobrake do not work.Any help welcome, before I try to get my money back or swap over the panel from my PSS A340 Pro!Thanks in advance,Matthew
August 5, 201015 yr If it's like the other Wilco Buses you can't access init B if the engines are running.IMO it's a shocking aircraft, quite incredible that the same people can make a great model like the e-jet then release this thing. If I remember correctly you can't delete waypoints in the FMC. Do yourself a favour and get your money back if you can and merge a decent panel with the recently released freeware A380.Dave ---------------------- Dave Bedford
August 5, 201015 yr Author Thanks Dave. I might try for a refund, as my latest research suggests that, although the package is marketed as A380 v2 for fs9 and fsx, in fact you only get v1 when you install it in fs9. You need fsx for the advertised functions.I only have the trial version of fsx, but I've managed to install v2 into that. I'll have a play tomorrow and see if I can come up with some kind of work-around, but I'm not very optmistic.

August 6, 201015 yr Author Since yesterday, I've had a response from Wilco. They have confirmed that the v2 is for FSX and v1 is for FS2004. This is certainly not how it appears on the packaging:"Airbus A380 v2 ... For Flight Simulator X & 2004"Talk about misleading! SimWare, who sold me the package, are no better. They should have made this perfectly clear on their website too.
August 8, 201015 yr Yeah sounds dodgy to me Matthew, I hope you can get your money back.Sorry scoob, I should have made that clear in my post. I can understand why you would want to distance yourself from that A380.Dave ---------------------- Dave Bedford

I can understand why you would want to distance yourself from that A380.DaveJust to tie up the loose ends - Wilco did give me my money back, but they seemed reluctant. I've since got the Airbus Evolution series, hoping my A380 experience was uncharacteristic. These are much better aircraft when they work, but it's always a bit "touch and go" because I'm on a 64-bit system, which isn't supported by this package. Generally speaking, the A318-A321 are good aircraft, although not to quite the same standard as FeelThere or PMDG software. I can't really judge the A330 or A340, as I've only got them to load once. And all of them crash to desktop at the end of the flight.
