August 6, 201015 yr Moderator The main developer of KSDT's KDFW named Kappa just posted a pic of JR from the t.v. show Dallas that said today will be a great day. It was posted in the Work in Progress section and he posted a final beta test video the other day.I can only assume that mean that KDFW will be up for sale today (Friday) or maybe tomorrow.Link: http://www.fsdreamteam.com/forum/index.php?topic=3312.0Giddy up!!! August 6, 201015 yr Author Moderator Well, I was about 12 hours early in my announcement when I posted this at 4am, but its out now.FSDT really out did themselves on this scenery. I would even say that I get better FPS with it than I do with the stock KDFW. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
August 7, 201015 yr Yeah,I'm with you!!!! This scenery is as big as a medium U.S. City and incredibly easy and smooth on FPS,what a fantastic job!!!

August 7, 201015 yr Author Moderator Hi Jim,I flew a bunch yesterday with the LDS 767 around the new KDFW mostly doing touch and go's.Anwyay, with UT2 set to 100% Airline and 0% GA and with the frame limiter set to unlimited I was getting from between 20 and 30 FPS. With the Bell Jet Ranger and RealAir SF260 I was getting FPS around 30 to 45 but I had to lock the frames at 28 when using those two a/c because I was getting some stutters from the FPS bouncing aounr too much.I am also using MegaScenery Dallas for the area which doesn't include much autogen so that maybe helping performance. The only issus I am having with the airport at the moment is some texture bleed thru on the north side of the airport. Its not too bad but enough to get my attention. I'm sure FSDT will get it fixed however.Regards Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator

I can run it but I have to turn of autogen and traffic to zero till I get a better system. glade your enjoying it its been a long time since we have been waiting for a good dfw scenery. that E8400 at oc'd @ 3.85 GHz seems to be a nice spot. August 7, 201015 yr Author Moderator That E8400 at oc'd @ 3.85 GHz seems to be a nice spot.Yeah, that's why I stil haven't upgraded to one of those i7's yet. I read all the time about these people who dump a load of money on i7 Extremes and still cant run FSX very well, or have to use FSX only for GA flying and do their airliner stuff in FS9. Not me, I fly primarley airliners into big addon hubs and have no issues what so ever. Frankly, I think a lot of it comes down to a solid set up of the OS, drivers, and FSX. Mess anyone of these up and it throws off the whole deal.I am going to upgrade to a new CPU at some point along with more/faster RAM and Win7, but frankly, as good as my sim is running know I am almost scared to change anything.Regardswhats the average fps? Sorry, forgot to answer that. About 25FPS in the LDS767 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator

About 25FPS in the LDS767Thanks Sean, you are right its not all about hardware but. which drivers you are using and other settings. you just have to tweak fsx good. for it work right 25FPS is a very pleasant frame rate for me. so thats great.I personally dont like it when it goes lower then 18-20 fps. funny thing is I have seen some people with i7 systems and getting horrible frame rates mostly due to the wrong combination of hardware but mostly bad software drivers settings. etc etc. lol I would also be afraid to mess with it since its working perfect now. I did look at the FSDT forum and saw some screenies you put there showing the bleed thru and also noticed the lack of autogen. Thanks for the heads up on your bleed thru issue and I am sure they will get it sorted out.Regards,Jim Jim Wenham
