Some Dirt on the PMDG 737 NGX

Featured Replies

i am officially sold on the NGX!! i just hope that the transition from the 747-400X isn't that bad, (i.e learning the new systems, handling, etc.) I simply cannot wait for all of this, HUD, TERR on ND, superb VC, and it won't even affect my system any more than the Queen :D! i am so happy right now, i just can't wait. TERR on ND? Is that being implemented for sure?Ron Hamilton

Well if you look at the 3rd screenshot of the panels, you can see the VSD and on there they show the terrain.

I hope, it will release soon, because i can't await it. It looks fantastic. :)

i got one more question.so the real 737 has an own steering-wheel for driving on ground. but all fsx planes can only be driven by steering with the joke.does the ngx have his/her own steering-wheel for ground driving ?sry for my english, i'm a german pupil

You guys at PMDG never fail to impress. Cannot wait for the release, and I can assure you that I will spend most (if not all) of my free time trying to learn and fly this bird. He%20He.gif

Thats not true, if you have a reg version of fsuipc you can assign a tiller axis to taxi the aircraft.Maybe I missed it but has anyone mentioned dynamic braking with wet runways? thats something that's really let PMDG down as far as realistic simulations go. Also Brake temps affecting performance? It's been mentioned before with the MD11 you can reject the Aircraft above V1 multiple time at MTOW and still not cook the brakesRegards

Ok I haven't seen this question before in the forum, so pardon me if the question has been already been answered.Question: Will the NGX be accompanied by binded printed manuals and QRH, like the MD-11?Although their cost with delivery may be multiple to that of the software, it adds so much to the experience, plus it makes the work put in the product by PMDG come to light. Suggestion: I guess that with NGX, there will be several systems and their failures simulated. However I believe 95% of the users don't even know about such features. How many for example know that the brake temperature mechanism in MD-11 is (or to me appears to be) a replication of the system in the real aircraft. The same goes for the brake cooling rate. Try overheating and then take-off leaving the gear extended to see how quickly the temperature will drop. So when the NGX is released, it would be good if PMDG started publishing something (e.g. newsletter, forum posts etc.) highlighting such features and tempting the user to experiment with the aircraft. It is a great shame if they remain hidden for users to find out through experience only. PMDG could always say : "Did you know this can be simulated... Try doing this and this and observe how the indications/system behavior change". So these were my 2 cents. Ilias
Good post Ilias, would be great idea and challenge to learn or test all the features as the ones you mentioned and whole lot more to learn how the aircraft systems are used in real life. So much in these aircraft PMDG put out that a lot of us dont know full systems.

MD11 J41 747 NGX . . awaiting 777 !!!

For future reference. If you only do two thigns while you post, let it be this1. post your full real name2. don't ask about release dates. People tend to get cranky when these two things are (2.) and aren't done (1.).Just lookin out for you.
Why didnt you acknowledge the content of his post first before coming down so heavy!!

I think he was asking if there is a functional EGPWS showing terrain features on the lateral map, i.e. a working TERR button. That would be really nice to have, especially if it is as advanced as the one installed on
Aer Lingus A320.I hope the PMDG NGX includes this feature. Maybe this is the reason they have not yet posted a screenshot of the complete VC.

Agreed... Terrain on ND will be a great feature and in some way it will minimise the missing WX gap.Right now this terrain on ND function is the major selling point of the "other" 737NG (v2.5) on the market........I wonder whether the TERR button will be "functional" on the PMDG 737NG?

thanks for posting that, I'd never seen a video of that in action before.

Thank you for the video ! Awesome video !
Yep, reminds me that I have to try that approach again. Like the sigh of one of the pilots at the end of the rwy (at 1:19). Glad even professionals feel like that. Besides the fact that I am glad I am not the only one provoking 'sink rate' warning during final approach :-)Phil

First off, his post wasn't directed towards anyone but PMDG. I can't answer those questions because I have no idea what PMDG has planned as far as manuals go. He can suggest stuff to me all he wants if he wanted to but that wouldn't help. Secondly, I wasn't coming down hard at all. He even responded in a nice and sincere way to my post. I was looking out for the guy as I said earlier. IF he made the same mistakes again, people would throw knives down his throat. Actually, there were some post who did exactly that. So simmer down cowboy.
