August 30, 201015 yr I wonder if the team is planning to include a "dynamic touchdown sound". What I mean is it gives you audio feedback depending how smooth or hard the touchdown is. This would be great even if it's a bit exaggerated, since there is no physical feedback on a desktop simulator.I like this idea! This would be great even if it's a bit exaggerated, since there is no physical feedback on a desktop simulator.I too like this idea. I know the developement team has a ton more knowledge than myself, but just know from my own experience that this is incredibly hard to do if not impossible. FSX doesn't have much for triggers and the whole sound model has more flaws in it (ok not flaws, but limitations) than anything. I have been sloooowwwly tailoring my own custom AI sounds now for over a year and even though I deal mostly with AI sounds, the cone pitch, angle and triggers leave me to think this type of smart trigger isn't feasible. I hope that I'm wrong of course, since I have that buttmaster 2000 thing that vibrates your chair by picking up bass signals and it really adds a layer to my simming, but only really when taking off and landing,,, oh and raising gear in lighter aircraft is pretty cool too. i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier

August 30, 201015 yr or unless u are using a buttkicker!! :D..lol...its the closest i got to a moving platform simulator at home!.It would be just great to actually feel the landing.. :DHeeheh.... Regards, Márcio Márcio Nóbrega
August 30, 201015 yr I have a force feedback controller and am about to take it apart and adapt it to my saitek yoke (Just the eggs). As for the Buttmaster (hehe, I mean buttkicker), it really does add a lot to the landings, especially with FSP since they have their own touchdown and rattle sounds. The emphasis I want to make here is for prop planes like the JS41, the buttplug thing is awesome, but for heavies you really want the sound since it ONLY picks up on the bass channel. I use it when playing Dirt2 and it's great, but again since it is feeding back due to the audio - it makes my whole house shake when the music starts. In fact I disabled the opening FSX tunes for this reason. The other negative about the buttslapper is the shipping costs. I think I paid $80 just for shipping and it only went from Chicago to Boston. i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier

For example with a combination of VERTICAL SPEED and PLANE ALT ABOVE GROUNDhttp://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc526981.aspx#AircraftPositionAndSpeedDataThe advantage of SimConnect is that you in many cases are not limited to what FSX gives you out of the box, since you can build your own boxes
August 31, 201015 yr Nice find Wim. I don't know much about using simconnect or anything for that matter, so hopefully it is doable. Right after my post I remembered the other night flying into KBIL in the Mooney. I got slammed with wind and was pretty sloppy on touchdown and got a blowout of one of my tires (This is using FSP). It was the first I saw that and had a good laugh. I imagine they just calculate the rate of descent (VS) so guess they could make something like this work using that or similar as the trigger. i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier
