Some Dirt on the PMDG 737 NGX

The loudest I have ever seen about 20 years ago was the SR71 Blackbird. Ground shacking like crazy and nothing louder heard since.

Back in the 80's a friend of mine was a military controller in Cold Lake. During Maple Flag they sometimes do the silent launches which is where the tower controller stands about 100 feet off to the side of the threshold of the runway. To launch aircraft, they just raise and lower a flag. Red flag was hold position and green flag was take off. This was just practice because in time of war they don't want the enemy to know when you are launching your aircraft. He got me a temporary restricted area pass and I went out with him. Now at 100 feet from aircraft that are taking off in formations of 4-5 like the Tornado, Jaquar, F111s, F15s, F16s, F18s, F4's, F14's and we had the B1's( but obviously not in formation take off due to lack of width on the runway) you never heard what loud really can be! Over 200 aircraft within an hour at 100 feet. You chest felt like it was going to explode. Even if I did have a heart attack the aircraft would act as a defibrillator.Jack C

If you REALLY want loud.....just get my wife mad at you!!(Just kidding dearRolling%20Eyes.gif Steve Cherry

Never heard an FA/18, but the Eurofighter with its afterburners going is pretty loud! Saw one at a recent airshow, it set a few car alarms off too!
The designation of F/A-18 is given to Royal Australian Air Force Hornets such as the F/A-18C, F/A-18D and the new F/A-18E Super Hornet. Hope that clears any confusion.

FAA: ATP-ME, 737 CA, enough time in the 757/767 to be dangerous 🤠

PMDG j41, 747-400x, 747-8i/f, NGX.......Finally!!!!

Well, I don't know how loud exactly is the SR-71....I remeber though how a lone, single engined MiG-23 fighter broke all windows in the nearby neighbourhood going full afterburner on a display in Bulgaria...The military guys had to go and change the windows for free afterwards :(

We probably won't know until around the 20th when everything wraps up.

Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory.
The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire.
To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune.

There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you.
It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.
