Some Dirt on the PMDG 737 NGX

Featured Replies

- I spoke with RSR at the Reno Air Races. We can expect a update in the next week. As we all know- that is subject to change. The HUD has been added to the VC and an alpha build is in testing.
Its going to be interesting to see how the HUD works in the vc. What with people using different zoom levels, track ir, seat height levels etc... I will be amazed if the horizon line on the HUD is accurate.

Aerosoft did an impressive job with the lights of the new airbus X. They shine and lightens objects in a real way. (not like the fsx lights)Will the NGX use the same technologie or use something else that has the same effect. I think it looks very impressive and real.Eric

True, those A320 X taxi and landing lightspots look really impressive on the screenshots...The wishlist for the NGX is getting longer and longer :)

Isn't that only 4 fsx???:(

So is the NGX.

Working hard... working hard... come on they are not even capable of posting a few shots, Ryan talked about new pictures more than two weeks ago now...Soon to be read on the PMDG 737NGX web page: "Coming 2011"

And so what if it is? You guys really need to settle down.PMDG can take however long they want. This is the most awaited addon for all of FSX. PMDG just wants to make sure it is done right, even if it takes a little more time than you guys would like.Chill out for a bit, we'll get screenshots when they have something to show.

This i KNOW is not in alignment with genral consensus.. BUT, i dont agree with the "pmdg can take aslong as they want" idea..If you were an engineer for a company like Apple or something, a delay of 2 years+ is simply not acceptable. We can assume the original release date of mid 2010 [approximate] so we are already months late of that..PMDG are a ltd company but i think its a question of efficiency and life commitments.. OK lots of the team do alot outside of FSX, but is that right?? **EDIT Some people i know are realy depending on this releaseOf course, let me be VERY very clear, i am not directing any beg or hate towards pmdg, i am NOT using health of ANYONE as an excuse to hurry up with a product, please do not mis quote me. IT would just be nice to see more efficiency and time dedication to the product, thats all i am saying,my 2 pence of the queens finest stirling

If somebody is REALLY depending on this release they have quite some serious problem in their life's priorities... That said, I think all those saying "PMDG can take as long as they need" themselves hope for a relase date of yesteday as the whole rest of the people following this thread. Keeping on the Apple analogy, you know that antenna problem on the iPhone 4? well maybe delaying it a couple of weeks would have solved that, wouldn't it? i don't want that kind of bug on the NGX on release... :( So just give it a break, what's the point? fly the 747 or whatever other aircraft you like, go out, prepare some flight plans... You don't even have to read this thread if you find it boring, stupid, useless or whatever, new announcements get made in separate threads. There even have been some information about why the news have been delayed, but that's not enough as it looks like. And i bet PMDG is already regretting that video... Thanks, Luca

Seconded..... whats the point in moaning? It'll be here when it gets here.... and when it does, im 99.9% sure nobody will be ######ing about delays or lack of information.... infact i'd imagine that half wont even "thank" or open an appreciation thread for it.

I agree, people who say PMDG should take their time are sticking their nose so far up the PMDG butt hole for what reason I dont know. Do you think you might get more pics/ information by sucking butt or do you want to part of the testing team? Anyway in all seriousness if they were to take their time and release 12 months from now would you still be happy to say that? What about 24 months from now? In my experience as an IT project manager there is a constant challenge between delivery, cost and time. Typically you don't deliver perfection because cost and time are major pressures that eventually win if things drag on too long I mean and the end of the day it's meant to be a profitable business which isn't possible without releasing something for more than what it cost to make. My only gripe is the lack of updates on progress. Ive said it before that I think it's wrong to state that the release is 'coming soon' and then not release it for a couple of years afterwards. People have been expecting this plane for a long time because we all believed that it was coming soon. It's about managing expectations and whilst PMDG exceed expectations with product I personally think they fail on the delivery of information pre release. It was obvious looking back that the 'coming soon' comment on the NGX webpage was misleading. And for those that are going to say rushing the software is a bad idea I agree 100%. This is not about rushing this is about managing expectations of passionate and loyal customers who deserve a little more respect. Just my opinion. Mike Kendall
