I too like this idea. I know the developement team has a ton more knowledge than myself, but just know from my own experience that this is incredibly hard to do if not impossible. FSX doesn't have much for triggers and the whole sound model has more flaws in it (ok not flaws, but limitations) than anything. I have been sloooowwwly tailoring my own custom AI sounds now for over a year and even though I deal mostly with AI sounds, the cone pitch, angle and triggers leave me to think this type of smart trigger isn't feasible. I hope that I'm wrong of course, since I have that buttmaster 2000 thing that vibrates your chair by picking up bass signals and it really adds a layer to my simming, but only really when taking off and landing,,, oh and raising gear in lighter aircraft is pretty cool too.
It's true that the FSX sound engine is rather limited, but PMDG could do this through their own sound gauge, which I believe they already use to add sounds. They would just need to define which soundfiles different vertical speed values at touchdown would play. Of course they could argue that it would not be 100% realistic, but it's sure more realistic than having a gentle touchdown sound when you land at -500 fpm. :D

Ok this is the most disturbing sentence I read so far in this forum. :D it just made it X-rated. Epic!! Turn up the bass will never be the same for me again....Btw, hook me up with a buttmaster 2000, I'd like to have layers too. :PErik Jan

Haha, I had just watched a movie where the actor wasn't able to remember a name for something he was talking about, so said something different every time. I was doing a spin off from that and entertaining myself :(

Erik, Thanks for the layers reply, it made me B) joke on my coffee.*Side note*It's sad that innocent comments by me and others get attacked by impatient people. Most are just 1 from a user here and there, and no different than people adding there unrelated comment about how useless they are and abysmal crap etc, etc... Both types have no real purpose and the negative ones take up as much space if not more than the ones trying to keep it positive. I think most people enjoy the side ranter while we wait. I too can't wait for it, but I guess it just hasn't taken me over as emotionally as it does to some to make them act like a 5 year old and then in doing so attempt to sound smart while doing it. A little of a deep oxymoron there, isn't it?

Simple question. Will the NGX have airstairs as an option, like the FS9 version does now? It's a handy feature with airports that don't use jetways... KBUR, PHKO, etc...Thanks,John

It will, but it will be implemented a bit differently (eg. you will be able to switch variants on the fly without reloading aircraft)

NGX has been a product worth waiting for in the making. Yes it can be very tough waiting for a product like this with the amount of detail and development involved.:(

Hi Ron, just curious but do you mean you can't in the FS9 older version? I make complete turn around flights all the time in the other products and some times as much as 7 flights without restarting FSX. The problems that people do encounter are FSX and not PMDG related unless theres something I missed.
