September 2, 201015 yr Classic one indeed. I'm making a small list of approaches to fly with the NGX w/ HUD and all.Anyone care to add one or two more?KPSP - RWY13R RNAVKDCA - River Visual 19KJFK - Parkway visual 13L/RJust flew into FMMI the other day (default scenery), that was quite interesting. The runway is in a crater, ILS G/S was going to take me into the ground, sort of had to go into a ATL HOLD at DH and wait until I could see the front of the runway, then descend pretty fast to get the wheels down in the TDZ. Pefrect place to test out the Vertical Display thingy. September 2, 201015 yr Believe me our fingers are very much crossed that this stuff is addressed in MS Flight.Have you talked to Aerosoft about it being in their sim?The Maddog's WX and terrain features are actually two completely separate things - the terrain display is not a "radar" in any sense, it has a low resolution global mesh file that it reads out of for that. Our terrain display by the way reads the elevation mesh in real time out of the sim - what you have installed with mesh is exactly what you'll see depicted, it's extremely cool.I believe the Reality XP TAWS does this as well. Cool stuff.Been having a geeky trawl through Airliners.net - anyone know which airlines use the vertical terrain display feature? I cant see any cockpit images with it (does anyone have a link to any?). I guess it could be a new feature which only new orders have fitted....? No link unfortunately, have only seen it in action and that was on European carriers. Will make sure to let you know if I come across something, though. No idea about US carriers. As far as new orders go I am not sure. I hear there are a bunch of older planes that get retrofitted with newer stuff, like i. e. the newer Honeywell MCP/AFDS. As per FAR 121.354, all turbine powered aircraft must have "an approved terrain situational awareness display". Whether or not that includes the VSD, I don't know. Joe Sherrill
September 2, 201015 yr With the level of detail achieved I really don't know why you made a 2d cockpit..?That's just my opinion of course.I was a 2d fan prior to the release of the J41 but when I saw that I could never fly 2d again.3d is the future and makes flying so realistic, bundled with track ir and ezdok.Just my 2 cents...,David Di Domizio David
September 2, 201015 yr I think that ... don't think, terrain, terrain, don't thinkyes, that was some cheap comedy for the eager fans

September 2, 201015 yr Ok, I am going to become the public enemy here, stone me... but... A few days ago I purchased the JS41. The first days I did not really like it, even complained a lot. The second and third day I started to enjoy it and now it is my favourite plane, even that there are a few minor issues such as the flashing VC window but there is a workaround until the next SP - and this tiny little regional turboprop became my absolute favourite in no time and here comes the sin: I fell in love with turboprops SOOO MUCH that I am awaiting the rollout of the DASH-8 MUCH more than the arrival of the NGX:-))) No joke!!! I hope that the DASH-8 Q400 will be modelled either! Long live the turboprops! The JS41 is F A N T A S T I C, I wanna tear it out of the screen and touch it and feel it! Awesome graphics, and what a complex little plane! So I want the DASH-8 too!!!
