Does anyone know how I can disable the default FSX GWPS voices? It conflicts with the voices that come from FSPassengers.Thanks

Hi, comment out or delete the GPWS lines in the aircraft.cfg file. (make a backup first)

On second thought, I would like to retain the GWPS audio from my payware aircraft but not FSX default GWPS. How can I do this? Thanks.

Look for the GPWS section in the aircraft.cfg file for the aircraft you're wanting to fix. It'll probably be close to the bottom of the page and should look something like this:[GPWS]max_warning_height = 1000sink_rate_fpm = -1500excessive_sink_rate_fpm = -2000climbout_sink_rate_fpm = -100flap_and_gear_sink_rate_fpm= -100You'll find the GPWS SDK documentation online here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc526949.aspx#gpwsKendall recommends you comment out the entries, i.e. put a couple of slashes in front of them like so:[GPWS]//max_warning_height = 1000//sink_rate_fpm = -1500//excessive_sink_rate_fpm = -2000//climbout_sink_rate_fpm = -100//flap_and_gear_sink_rate_fpm= -100If this doesn't work then put some very large and very small numbers into each respective field so that the GPWS conditions are never achieved.

Hi Mike, thanks for the response, but doesn't that get rid of the GWPS of the payware aircraft that I am flying? I would like to keep the payware aircraft GWPS but get rid of the default FSX GWPS that sometimes blares over my aircraft's GWPS. Please clarify. Thanks.

Hi you can try to move all the gpws sounds in the main fsx sound folder to a backup folder do not delete it lol. they should be gone. its not the best solution but its in option.

You can go into options/controls/key assignments and assign a key combination to it. I used control-quote. That way you can turn it on or off as you wish for each aircraft.
