FTX Pacific Fjords and FTX Northern Rockies before Christmas!

Featured Replies

I got very excited by a post from John Venema on the Orbx forum in which he said that FTX Pacific Fjords AND FTX Northern Rockies will be released before Christmas!!! And in addition there will be 4-5 more PNW airports before Christmas (not yet announced but being worked on) plus the already announced KORS!!! I never ever expected those new regions to be released that soon!!! :( That's in about 4 months and maybe even sooner! Man, the idea of being able to fly out of PNW (which on itself has proven to be large enough to enterain me since the day it was released) into other stunning regions is awesome!!!The news was a bit hidden and posted in a topic about Australian airports (a few of them are cancelled), so I almost missed it, but this announcement really made my day! (Of course I feel sorry for all those who were looking forward to some AU airports...) JV said:"70% of our revenue is from outside Australia, so it makes sense to devote resources to where the customers are."That does make sense indeed. Luckily I am all into PNW, so I am a happy customer!!!Here is the topic where you can read it all: http://orbxsystems.com/forums/index.php?topic=25525

As someone who just downloaded, and installed PNW yesterday, I can honestly say this may be the best scenery I have ever purchased, equal to that of Tongraa Fjords (which I have) in many respects. Which begs the question, won't Pacific Fjords basically cover the same area of Tongass? Or is is simply stopping short to the South? I can only imagine this may be at the expense of any future FSX Misty Fjord release?Since the same individuals are involved with all these products, including UT Alaska (which I also have), I assume all this has been considered, I just have not got my head around how all these will work together, or over-ride each other. To be quite honest, I have not paid too much attention to what FTX has been up to, but after installing PNW, that has changed; this group now has my full attention. The upper Rockies will be a 'must have' regardless of any other 'overlap'.Any basis info would be appreciated on these subjects.

Hope this helps explain a little. Much more info about Pacific Fjords can be gleaned from the Orbx forums.http://orbxsystems.com/forums/index.php?topic=25073.msg213436#msg213436http://orbxsystems.com/forums/index.php?topic=24739.msg211887#msg211887

meh, they said also pwn WOULD BE released before xmas of last year..we all know when this (amazing) scenery was released (about ~6 months later of said date).
Felix,That's not true. PNW was out in Feb 2010 and not 6 months after Christmas.Wolfgang

Thanks a bunch, I just joined the ORBX forums, so have missed some of this, or have not stumbled across it yet. Seems Holger is 'all in' with ORBX/FTYX right now, and Bill W. seems to be moving into it as well. Perhaps the FSAddon products are now essentially 'dead' when it comes to these areas in terms of future development (Although I have seen where Vancouver and Victoria+ are still to be developed....maybe). That is too bad, but life evolves, as well as business, and FTX is quite an incredible product. If Holger is involved, how could it not be? :(

LOL, I just wanted to be clear. As they say about bacon and eggs, the chicken is involved but the pig is committed. I'm as bacon as it gets when it comes to Orbx. Big%20Grin.gif

I'm waiting with great anticipation as well. Misty Fjords was my favorite FS9 scenery. The Orbx sceneries speak for themselves. I can hardly wait. ;)

Awesome! Can't wait to get one for Xmas! A definitive present indeed! Dave.

Isnt this group planning some bigger airports in the region? Maybe PDX, SEA or YVR?
