Is it possible to make a hurricane in FS2004? If not is there an add-on that will allow me to do this?

CATEGORY ONE Maximum sustained winds of 74 to 95 mph. Barometric pressure in the eye no less than 28.94 inches of mercuryCATEGORY TWO Maximum sustained winds of 96 to 110 mph. Barometric pressure in the eye no less than 28.30 inches of mercury.CATEGORY THREE Maximum sustained winds of 111 to 130 mph. Barometric pressure no less than 27.91 inches of mercury. CATEGORY FOUR Maximum sustained winds of 131 to 155 mph. Barometric pressure no less than 27.17 inches of mercury.CATEGORY FIVE Maximum sustained winds higher 155 mph with gusts of 200 mph and higher. Barometric pressure lower than 27.17 inches of mercury.Hurricane Season- The portion of the year having a relatively high incidence of hurricanes. The hurricane season in the Atlantic, Caribbean, and Gulf of Mexico runs from June 1 to November 30. The hurricane season in the Eastern Pacific basin runs from May 15 to November 30. The hurricane season in the Central Pacific basin runs from June 1 to November 30.As far as setting up the clouds to actually have an "EYE"... good question. Maybe someone else has some ideas.Luhiss

Actually the guys at Weathermakers (Calibre Software) are making new weathertheme's. Downloaded a Super Cell weathertheme yesterday and that's quite a challange to fly in....;)Contact Keith Kyle from Calibre and ask for a hurricane...:) Rob "Holland&Holland" de Vries http://www.emotipad.com/emoticons/Flying.gif"A Bad Day At The Field Is Still Better Then A Good Day At Work"

I downloaded that weathertheme with supercells and tried it, but you dont actually see any supercells, maybe the conditions are right for supercells, but you wont see any, i dont think the FS9 weather engine can create a supercell, but it sure would be cool to see.OHN

how does a supercell look in your opinion or should I say perception. I've learned that ....."the largest, strongest and longest-lasting thunderstorms have an appropriate name: "supercells." They are capable of producing tornadoes, large hail, dangerous bursts of wind or flash floods as well as lightning, which is a danger in all thunderstorms. These storms are characterized by rotating winds rising into the storm called a "mesocyclone." Some general characteristics help identify supercells from a distance. Air rising into the storms at speeds up to 170 mph helps give them a hard, cauliflower look. The air is turning as it rises, which can give parts of the clouds a corkscrew appearance. Atop the column of rising air a dome or cloud, called an "overshooting" top, forms, also with a hard look. Tornadoes, especially large ones, usually drop from the supercell near the edge of the rain-free area under the storm. http://weather.cod.edu/sirvatka/schematic.gifIn my honest opinion...with all limitations the Weathermaker guys succeeded with there theme.PS some additional information:http://www.crh.noaa.gov/techpapers/service...upcel-torn.htmlamd nice pictures of Supercells in all there variations:http://www.targetarea.net/photosup.htmlLike this one:http://www.targetarea.net/pic12/jun303lp4.jpgRob "Holland&Holland" de Vries http://www.emotipad.com/emoticons/Flying.gif"A Bad Day At The Field Is Still Better Then A Good Day At Work"

If you were patient, you could set the winds and cloud cover up at the individual "weather stations" that make up the hurricane. You could even create an "eye" of sorts this way--which would be visible from a distance if you kept your cloud draw distance at it's max.I don't know that there's be anyway to get the whole convective complex to move, however. It's possible that someone could create a theme of sorts as well. During actual hurricane t/s events, I've tried to DL real weather. Problem is, some stations fail to report during extreme weather. I'd love to try a "Hurricane Hunters" flight.... -John
