Sitting on tail

Recommended Posts

Seems like everytime I load the A/C it ends up sitting on it's tail. I have changed the payload but the results are the same. Any suggestions?

I haven't bought it yet (waiting for SP1 to fix the reported low cruise speeds and engine management) but I get this problems sometimes when I load up taildraggers first and then nosewheel aircraft 2nd. A quick double tap of the Y button to enter slew mode usually fixes that.

What have you changed the load out to? Are you loading cargo/pax with low fuel?

I remember in the RW watching Martinaire pilots hop out of their Caravans to place a brace under the tail, to help prevent the aircraft from tipping up while loading. You knew when you set it down on that thing (I did every time I crawled in there; I'm not a light weight guy lol). It was always a good idea to move forward till it righted itself, then start loading up. Keep that CG forward! I know Carenado included this brace in the 208; wouldn't it be cool if you needed to "turn-on" the brace before loading? LOL

Grab some straps and use those handy anchor points found on the floor, walls and ceiling to keep 'em from moving around too much!Seriously though, if a plane comes standard with a brace to keep the thing from tipping while being loaded, rest assured it's a wee bit easy to unbalance it. Watch that CG and slide the heavy stuff forward, please! :(

Exactly! I have seen the Caravan stand on it's tail more than once! (never my doing though)

I had the same problem after I configured it for AES and hit "repair for push". I reverted back to default and it was fine.
