Ant's Sierra LSA

Recommended Posts

If you are looking for a light sport aircraft / tourer with 3D gauges, nicely modeled interior and exterior, plug-and-play support for the Reality XP 530 GNS (panel.cfg files are supplied if you have the 430), engine damage modeling, lots of liveries and animations, and excellent documentation then you are in luck:This is the new Tecnam Sierra LSA from Ant's Airplanes. Payware this time, but at AUD 19.95 (app. USD 18) it is fabulous value for money. Frames are excellent, but if you are worried about your old rig being able to handle it, a demo version should be able for download shortly at http://www.antsairplanes.com (I bought mine at the Flightsim Store). And now you have to excuse me, I'm going flying :(

Thanks for this info. I am very interested. I can't see the demo model for testing yet. I would like to test this: Special model that provides compatibility with the Reality XP 530 or 430 GPS (RXP GPS not included) as well as allowing additional avionics to be installed.

Best regards from RelaxX

According to the manual there are some limitations to the demo (when it becomes available):If you are using the demo the following limitations are placed on the model. Purchasing the full version will obviously fix these limitations.- Demo written in inconvenient places- Propeller does not rotate- Only one all white livery (full version includes 10 liveries)- No Reality XP version (full version includes a model that allows the Reality XP 530 or 430 GPS (sold separately) to be used).I can tell you that using it with the RXP GNS530 required zero configuration, I just selected an RXP-enabled version of the plane. This is what the dash looks like with the 530:If you want to use the RXP GNS430 there is a file in the SimObjects\Airplanes\Ants Sierra LSA\panel.rxp530 folder called "panel.rxp430.cfg" that needs to be renamed to panel.cfg to use that version of the GPS.(If you don't have either, the FSX default GPS500 is used)

Very nice plane indeed! Looks good, flies well, and comes withexcellent and complete documentation. Really nice package!Based on the freeware Tiger Moth, I was happy to pay for this one (two planesfor the price of one) and am not disappointed. Great fun to fly!Two minor (and I stress "minor") issues.. the RXP 530 did not pop up as shippedwhich I fixed by adding an RXPGNS.ini file (running the RXP config application would likelydo the same) and the animated Flaps handle does not move when I activate the flaps from my CH Yoke.Back to flying as well!

Thanks Bert, that looks fine. Is this autopilot from Reality XP as well?

Yes, it is part of the "FLN" Nav gauge package. If you do decide to install an autopilot, remember to set Autopilot=1in the aircraft.cfg file, or it will not work (!)Here a screenshot from a coupled LPV approach at CYYJ.The VOR1 gauge correctly shows the glideslope in GPS APR mode.

Awesome plane, bought it yesterday and immediately promoted it to my default plane (situated at Orbx WA79). Don't want to repost all my screenies but if you want to see them (and read my very excited posts about this great plane :( ), go here:http://orbxsystems.com/forums/index.php?topic=25781

Looks like the Piper Tomahawk that I used to fly.  Had pretty good characteristics.  My CFI and me got caught in a slight headwind en-route from KMSN to KSTE.  When he was on the radio, he would call it the 'Blue Bomber'.Graphics look great on the LSA!jja
