Things to come for fs9 in the near future...

Recommended Posts

The other day, I started a topic at http://www.flightsimtools.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=315 to see if they could make fsx scenery to be converted to use in fs9. We maybe getting this option in the near future.Just think how great it would be to have orbx or even the NEW MegaSceneryX for fsx in your fs9. I sure hope this product comes to path. Also, with the release of the awsome IFly 737, You may need some new scenery . Two scenery files coming out soon look just wonderful.Check them out http://cielosim.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=138 and http://www.flytampa.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=4298 .Fs9 is getting better and better!Post any other up and coming addons guys, if you know of any.

I'm sure there was a similar thread not long ago. But anyway, yes, there ARE some great scenies comnig for FS9.Despite some loud forecasts of FS9 death, I have an impression it is being reborn with all those great addons coming around (both airports and aicraft). :PFor example Aerosoft. Except for the great Gibraltar just released, we can soon expect:- Munich (EDDM) - http://www.forum.aer...showtopic=20827- Stuttgart (EDDS) - http://www.forum.aer...showtopic=33119- Paris Oly (LFPO) - http://www.forum.aer...showtopic=37481- Barcelona El Prat (LEBL) - http://www.forum.aer...showtopic=33126Also Anchorage (PANC) and Fairbanks (PAFA) were announced at Aerosoft forums. We may see Krakow Balice (EPKK) if the developer stops his break - http://www.epkk.pl/Don't forget to check out the just-released latest version of another (after Bangkok and Phuket) Thai freeware jewel: Chiang Mai (VTCC) - see here: http://simflight.nl/...l-airport-2010/

Two great "heads up" guys. VTCC 2010 combined with the new Chiang Mai city scenery makes for a great package. I have always loved the Thai Flight sceneries but this is the best ever! Thanks

Shez announced on this forum several weeks ago that his part of it was completed and Ian was just doing some final tweaks prior to release. Shez indicated that it was in Beta testing as I asked him a question about frame rates and the legacy Philadelphia skyline scenery and he mentioned that the Beta testers had reported good frames etc. I got the feeling that Shez expected it to be released any day but apparently Ian had some kind of family crisis that has delayed it. But they released great screenshots and it really does look like a virtually completed and awesome project. There was a thread on here where the info and screenies were posted but unfortunately we had someone get involved with some nasty comments and the administrators shut the thread down. So I can't say for a "fact" that it is near release, but if Shez says it is, I have to believe him. Hope that helps. Cheers mate

I have the landclass files at a low priority, then the Chiang Mai scenery higher and the VTCC files above that. Seems to work fine. The city scenery isn't all that awesome, though it does have some interesting buildings that add to the ambience and doesn't seem to effect frame rates at all. The VTCC airport scenery is outstanding! I love the stuff that the Thai Flightsim guys have put out over the years and this is by far the best yet. Pretty much payware quality like some other recent releases such as the incredible EPWA scenery. It is very frame-rate friendly too! Hope that helps.

No, I mean trying to add VTCC via the scenery menu in FS does nothing, as in it can't find the files to add. The pop up box asking for the location shows the filename and whatnot when I click o it, but when I click "ok", the name disappears and nothing gets added.Any ideas? Thanks!

Since you are using Windows 7, I guess you are experiencing a know problem regarding the use of FS9 under Windows 7. Try selecting the folder of the VTCC scenery via the scenery menu and press 'OK' - nothing should happen. Now the trick is to press the RIGHT mouse botton in the white field, where the folders are listed. The screen should switch to the scenery library again and the VTCC scenery should be listed.I hope that helped.Best regards,Christian
