Challenges for mountain flyers!

Recommended Posts

Guest

After having moved to Colorado from NY recently and just getting my PPL before the move I've become very interested in mountain flying - at least on a simulator. A great book on this topic is Flying the Mountains by Fletcher Anderson. Aspen has always been my favorite "dangerous" approach but I have some new ones discussed in detail in the book:- Glenwood Springs, CO - I think the most scenic field in MSFS and my vote for default airport for future FS's.- Wilson Bar Airport, ID - canyon flying at its best! You don't want to have to abort this landing unless you have tons of power.- Telluride - an oldy but a goody! Easy to gain altitude fast when you take off over a cliff!Enjoy!David
