September 7, 201015 yr Recently a new breed of storage has emerged combining a traditional platter HDD and a limited SSD "cache". I.e the Seagate Momentus XT range. Specs: XXX SATA 3Gb/s, 32MB, 7200RPM, HDD + 4GB SSD SLC memory, 2.5" - apparently available as 250, 300 and 500 GB.Does anybody have hands on experience with these?Or can somebody more tech savvy than me make an educated guess on the usefulness of these devices?Perhaps compared to full SSD, Raptors, WD Blacks?
