Recommended Posts

Guest pvasc

I'm having CTD's after flying for any length of time then trying to tune in ATIS of the destination airport. FS 9 stops, I get a black screen, then an error message with the do you want to restart question. Any body have any ideas? I'll post the EVENT log next time it happens, I deleted it this time.My computer:MSI K9N2 SLI PlatinumAMD 6000 dual core4gb memoryPNY 9600GT 1gb DDR2Windows XP Pro SP2I have Avast Anti-virus and Spybot S&D running.ThanksVal Vascik

I don't know I mostly fly airliners: PSS 757, Wilco E170, come to mind. I don't think it's happened on any of my PMDG aircraft.

If you have S&D Tea-timer running, try stopping it and test again. I have seen problems caused by it on the various forums.Colin B

OK I turned off Spybot. Flew from London to Barcelona, no problem. Sat on the ground for 30 minutes, tuned in Heathrow ATIS, transferred it into the active part of the radio and CRASH. The report said something like FATAL ERROR involving the atc.dll. This always happens after that amount of time it seems, usually I'm flying 40 miles from my destination when I tune in ATIS.AND event viewer gave me this:Event Type: ErrorEvent Source: Microsoft Flight Simulator 9.0Event Category: NoneEvent ID: 1001Date: 9/10/2010Time: 8:04:57 PMUser: N/AComputer: HALJRDescription:The description for Event ID ( 1001 ) in Source ( Microsoft Flight Simulator 9.0 ) cannot be found. Were you using MSFS ATC on this flight?"Event Source: Microsoft Flight Simulator 9.0"Did you previously install the "update" to MSFS 9.1?

It has been observed that when using another ATC program if FS ATC is not being used but left in place a crash can be caused. FS9 also has a problem with ATIS and some other commonly used frequencies being repeated when coming into the ATC radius of the user aircraft. While the 9.1 patch supposedly cured some of this cases were still reported.Users that use other ATC products including on-line ATC could elect to disable FS ATC (does not affect AI operations) by including the statement "RemoveATC=Yes" if using FSUIPC3 editing that (after backing up the file) the General Section of FSUIPC.ini.

I think I figured it out. Somehow in My Network Connections I had 2 connections enabled. I disabled one and fingers crossed have not had the CTD since.
