747 short hops

Recommended Posts

To all those, who tell us that short hops with the 747 are unrealistic!Based on an german newspaper aritcle (http://www.aero.de/news/Lufthansa-nimmt-Boeing-747-400-auf-Inlandsstrecken.html) Lufthansa operates right now one 747 on their "racetrack"-routes EDDF-EDDH-EDDF, EDDF-EDDT-EDDF and EDDF-EDDM-EDDF to meet the high demand during the busy month of september. It seems that due to the fast delivery of the third A380 for Lufthansa ("Peking"), one of their 747 has some "spare time" for this special task. The User "Tizian" even posted some scheduled times for these flights over at the aerosoft forum:"@Delta777:Ja das stimmt, auf den Rennstrecken ab FRA, nach MUC, TXL und HAM Hier die vorraussichtlichen Flugzeiten:FRA-HAM-FRA 022/027 (17:50-18:50/19:45-20:50) 08.09, 10.09, 15.09, 17.09, 22.09, 24.09, 29.09 FRA-MUC-FRA960/965 (07:05-08:00/08:45-09:50) 11.09, 18.09, 25.09 FRA-TXL-FRA170/177 (06:50-07:55/08:45-09:55) 07.09, 09.09, 14.09, 16.09, 21.09, 23.09, 28.09, 30.09178/185 (11:50-12:55/13:45-14:50) 07.09, 09.09, 14.09, 16.09, 21.09, 23.09, 28.09, 30.09188/195 (17:05-18:10/19:00-20:05) 06.09, 13.09, 20.09, 27.09"I think these are some highly interesting AND realistic flights to fly, if you have only little time and still want to take our queen for a small ride! :( Regards,Christopher VollePS: If you want to have some proof, just search for "747" and the airports mentioned above on airliners.net!

Love the BA maintenance ferry flights to and from Cardiff......Very light and very short- that's a combination that's best hand flown......and don't be timid about pulling back the thrust levers!

Best-
