Ohio the land the Microsoft forgot

Recommended Posts

Guest RichD

I installed FSGenesis landclass in FS9 today and all I can say is Wow. I live in northeast Ohio and this is an area that Microsoft just didn't get right. South of Cleveland where there should be lots of farmland and lots of small towns it looks like the prairie out west. Now with the landclass addition it looks like the real thing. They have a beta that you can download and try. I installed the beta in Fs2002 and after one flight I was reaching for my credit card. In some areas it didn't change much but for Ohio it was a big change. With my latest addition I can't think of anything I want in a sim that this sim doesn't have. I am one happy camperRichard

Agree fully with you.I live down south of Columbus, and often fly around the Southern part of the state. The locations of towns etc.. is much better now I used the landclass/mesh combo. The Rockies mesh is good to, am slowly building them up as I tour the country :)-Jonathan

Richard, I agree. I live in Aurora (OH) and MS never had it right. With the FSGenesis mesh + landclass it looks perfect!

I had the FSGenesis landclass installed with fs2002 and I agree with you that it made a big difference in NE Ohio. When I tried it in fs2004 I was a little disappointed because downtown Cleveland looks like a suburb whereas the stock landclass in fs2004 makes it look like a real city.I think this is unique to fs2004. Tell me if you notice the same thing or not. Also, I use the maximum possible autogen. Maybe this is the cause?

Cleveland looks about the same to me. Maybe a little more open area but it still looks like a big city. Some of the textures are different which gives it a different look.Richard
