flight duration

Recommended Posts

Good morning everybody,Just a little question. For the J41, it is nescessery to insert the duration of the flight. (1.2 hours, 2.5 etc)It is easy to calculate the amount of fuell with a new destination, but has anybody a simple way to calculate the duration of a flight.like "distance : average speed = duration" I must say most of the time, this won't work properly. :( ThanksEric

I know two ways:You can watch Your watch wink.giforYou can use some wicked mathematics:Distance/TAS=TimeAnd maybe some real world pilots have more precise ways to calculate it. Of course distance includes SID/Enroute/STAR.

Thanks,Hmmm using a watch. Nice, trial and error. Wonder how to explain a possible crash Big%20Grin.gif Sid and Stars can make a huge difference in time and distance. But maybe the duration in the loadsheet of the J41 doesn't do anything in the simulation.Never tried, was just curious. Trying to do as real as ....maybe one step to far.Eric

Changing the duration updates the landing fuel and weight figures in the loadsheet, that's all.
