PMDG 747-400 Flaps and Spoilers Do Not Animate

Recommended Posts

I recently had to unistall MSFS FSX and everything (addons) related to it. FSX would not start because of corrupted file...repair did not fix the problem. I have now reinstalled FSX and PMDG 747-400 and MD-11. MD-11 is working great. However, 747-400 is not.I notice that when I deploy the Spoilers, the throttle pedestal lever shows they are deployed but when you look externally at the wing, they are still stowed and not deployed. Aircraft speed reacts as expected...slows as if they are deployed. A similar problem exists for the flaps...the flap lever on the throttle pedestal moves to the appropriate gate stop, instrument panel indicates appropriate flap setting, but external view of the wing shows the actual flaps are still retracted. However, the flap support booms (not sure of the actual name for them) do extend to the appropriate position. The actual flap is detached from them and they stay retracted (up).Has anyone run into this problem before and has a solution?Thank you.Malcolm Arnot

Phillip...Thanks for the reply and suggestion. I will check that in my settings as I cannot remember if I checked it or not. Thanks again...Malcolm Arnot

Philip...I checked "Advanced Animations," and sure enough I had not checked the box. Now the PMDG 747 Spoilers and Flaps animate like they are supposed to. Thanks again for your suggestion....Malcolm Arnot

From one Stuart to another...

The advanced animation option is available on the pull-down FSX menu at the top of the screen. Select Options > Settings > Display. On the first page that is shown (the Graphics page), you'll see Advanced animations at the bottom of the right-hand column. Check the box, then hit OK and you're done.
