FSX Gmax Gamepack

Recommended Posts

Hello,I am interested in making some planes for FSX. I have Gmax and the FSX Gmax Gamepack installed, but I can't find a way to save it so it opens with the FSX gamepack. If I save a project to work on it later, it saves as a Gmax scene and therefore I cannot export the file to .MDL. It keeps the "FStools" menu but I can't export to .MDL. The only way that I can export to a MDL file is if I never save the file and re-open it.Thank-you,Kevin.

Thanks,

Kevin L

I may have misunderstood you, but the files you create are saved with the extension .gmax and can be reloaded for further work. These are the files you actually work with. When you want to try the model in FSX you must export it as .mdl file. Once it's been exported you cannot edit a .mdl file - you must use the .gmax file and then re-export the .mdl file.

You can save and re-open a .gmax file and export a .mdl file. These are separate actions and are not linked

HelloCan you please give instructions on how to do this? It doesn't work, the only file I can export to after re-opening is plasma (.p3d). Thank-you,Kevin.

Thanks,

Kevin L
