Recommended Posts

Where do you set the course for landing ? Also do you tune the radio for the app. loc I was looking for the course window to set the course .If I am correct there is only one radio ?Is that where you set the ILS .I know the fmc can do it to.

First, you need to sign your posts with your full name on the PMDG board here at AVSIM.Second, you can only tune the ILS radio in the PMDG 744 via the CDU. Go to the Nav section of the FMS, and you will see the ILS radio. It will be set to "Park" unless you are flying a STAR and IAP programmed into the FMS and are very close to final, in which case the FMS will auto tune the ILS radio for you. Should you want to tune it yourself, type in the frequency followed by a forward slash, and the inbound course. For example, ILS RWY 7L into KLAX, I would type 111.10/069 You should then see this information in white show up on the PFD. When the signal is established, it will change from the frequency to the identifier and show the DME is the approach is so equipped.

To add to what Scott said - this is how it is in the real aircraft. The 744 does not have manual dials for setting the radios, it's done purely from the CDU.
