October 5, 201015 yr Hi all,The Milviz team just released an update for their Cessna 310. It's available at Flight1. The airplane now feels correct on approach and they fixed the CHT and Oil Temps and added a couple additional features.IMHO this product is now the most accurate simulation of light twin flying available for our hobby.Cheers,Bill "A good landing is one you can walk away from. October 5, 201015 yr I always wonder how it does compare to the Duke or the Eaglesoft Twin Comanche for example. My hangar already shelters some Twins, so another buy has to be well planned :) As for the Duke, I think this one is hard to match but it has some less rough character then the C310 in my eyes. I don't own the Twin Comanche but her character should come close to the C310's.
October 5, 201015 yr C310 a bit smaller and lighter than the Duke, smaller engines too but we are not comparing an Airliner and a C150 here so the comparison looks valid to me.As I said, different character but both piston twins, right?I sure wish someone would do a side by side comparison of these.Absolutely!
October 5, 201015 yr I just saw that the C310 is way cheaper than my fine Realair Duke. 22 to 32 Euros here. A fact to mention I think.I've downloaded the pictures and manuals and I like the video too but I can't find anything about the G1000 integration shown there. I only have manuals for the smaller GPS units and a G1000 driven detailed twin would be very nice indeed.Anyone with more information on this G1000 topic? Amend: Found the info I needed It also requires FSX GOLD/Deluxe for the G1000's to function.I should learn to read better. :( Maybe I'll give her a try because of that F1 selling system with refund option.

It is anticipated that those who really wish the very best will either already have, or will purchase the Mindstar Aviation G1000 (which is extremely realistic): http://www.mindstarprods.com/aviation/ Fr. October 6, 201015 yr And the Mindstar will work in the VC of the C310? That's my only concern. It might be useful on some other planes too so the price would be ok then.
October 6, 201015 yr I think this is a case of which aircraft you prefer more, they both seem to be very nice. I have the Duke with the RealityXP GPS upgrade, and I have zero complaints. Shane Gavin
October 6, 201015 yr Does this plane have a VC 3D Gauge for the RXP 530...like the duke has or do you have to put it in a "flat" part of the panel, if you have some screens of the 310 with the RXP stuff in it feel free to show it.Ronald T Hamilton Ron Hamilton "95% is half the truth, but most of it is lies, but if you read half of what is written, you'll be okay." __ Honey Boo Boo's Mom
October 7, 201015 yr And the Mindstar will work in the VC of the C310? That's my only concern. It might be useful on some other planes too so the price would be ok then. That is how Bill Leaming designed it to work -- just to plug it in and go with it. I cannot verify how this works since I did not purchase this commercial add-on avionic. Ken C310 a bit smaller and lighter than the Duke, smaller engines too but we are not comparing an Airliner and a C150 here so the comparison looks valid to me.As I said, different character but both piston twins, right?Absolutely! The Duke is actually in the same class as the Cessna 421 Golden Eagle. The prime difference being that the Duke is what is called a cabin class aircraft and the 310R (like the Aztec, Baron, and Twinstar) is not. However, some people consider that with the double bay doors on the Baron, that it's a semi cabin class without the ability to get up and walk around in the back.I own the Duke and found it a very nice airplane. But, I frankly think that our 310R has a more realistic flight model to the actual aircraft. But I readily admit I'm not impartial here since I own a real 310R and also helped develop the MilViz version of it.Cheers,KenDoes this plane have a VC 3D Gauge for the RXP 530...like the duke has or do you have to put it in a "flat" part of the panel, if you have some screens of the 310 with the RXP stuff in it feel free to show it.Ronald T HamiltonRon,It is an either or situation. To use the RealityXP 530 you use the free radio panel, which is not using 3D buttons. However, Bill Leaming did code up a true 3D GNS-530 in the default 3D panel. So, you have options.Cheers,Ken
October 7, 201015 yr Thanks for your answers, Ken.I was looking for another Twin and some G1000 option in it. The C310 package surely looks very good and has a nice price point.Interesting to read about the flight model of the Duke as I found it to be very rewarded all over the flight sim world. Can't say anything bad and if the C310 keeps up or even expands this, it has gotten even more interesting. So far, my G1000 search brought me to the Eaglesoft DA42 which has a tweaked default G1000 gauge with some nice details. Without spending 50 more Dollars for the surely more advanced Mindstar product this is ok for me and somehow close to the Mustang's G1000 which I like too. The Mustang of course features current navdata which currently even the Mindstar lacks of.If I find the need for flying a classic plane with modern avionics, the C310 will be it and has no opponent here. Until now, classic goes via the Duke and (very) modern in the Eaglesoft so my PropTwin needs are sated for now while all GPS needs are done with a combination of EFB from Aivlasoft and default gauges. Current navdata (in EFB) and no investment in further avionics does it for now.

Different from the Duke, but just as convincing.. and a lot of fun to fly. :( Bert

I didn't bother with reworking the G1000 for the C310R because it would have increased the sales price.Owners of the Mindstar G1000 have the option to participate in the public beta, meaning that Navigraph support is available for them, along with all of the variations for different aircraft's displays.
