No VC in Mike Stone's Beechraft Bonanza

Featured Replies

Just a quick question. I downloaded Mike's copy the Beech Bonanza and copied into into my FS9 Aircraft directory. The plane comes up fine from the selection screen. The default cockpit, sound, is there etc. The problem is when I try for the virtual cockpit I just seem to be standing on the tarmac....there is nothing there...no panel, no interior etc. Even in the default cockpit if I look left or right I see no door, no wings etc. Do I have to put something somewhere other than in the Beech Bonanza folder in the Aircraft folder?OS is Windows 7.Thanks in advance if anyone can help.jj

It was my understanding that none of Mike Stone's aircraft come with a VC. Perhaps I'm mistaken.

Correct, there is no VC in this a/c and no wing views in the 2D cockpit either. If I am ever unsure if a cockpit is showing correctly, I just open up the panel .cfg file and check if there is any text relating to a virtual cockpit or wing views in the 2D version.Regards..........Stuart

If you cant get any joy with the Mike Stone Beechcraft Bonaza try this....Beechcraft Twin Bonanza by Chris Tuinstra. It does have a VC by the way. This is a fine (freeware) aircraft. With a particularly nice BFU livery(amongst others)Available here or at the other place.cheers Andy

Mike's aircraft were developed for efficient modeling as flyable and AI use to give satisfactory frame rates with hardware available a few years ago. As such, no VC was incorporated. His concentration until his later aircraft was on the 3D model rendering and FDEs. He frequently used default panel aliases. Towards the end of his FS development he started providing customized 2D panels for some aircraft. Some freeware panel developers provided substitute panels for his models as separate downloads. As an example I use his BAe RJ-85 with panels from the BAE panel project.Mike also favored military aircraft and perhaps he created some customized panels for those. I don't use military models. His works are archived on Gary Smith's site:http://gjsmith.net/
