To Mr. Steven Whalin RE: Your Contribution: World Trade...

Mr. Whalin:I wanted to express my gratitude for your kind and artistic add-on for FS9. It is individuals such as yourself that not only make this hobby great; it fills this humble Marine with great pride for your thoughtfulness and patriotism. May we always remember all of those loved and lost.http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=...atID=fs2004scen"...I feel how weak and fruitless must be any words of mine that would attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering to you that consolation that may be found in the thanks of the republic they died believing in. I pray that our heavenly father may assuage the anguish of your berievement and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the alter of freedom. Yours very sincerely and respectfully." -- Abraham Lincoln

Mr Whalin, I too wish to add my thanks for your contribution as I lost a family member in the events of 09/11/01. In reality though all of those lost were a part of my family and yours as well. We must always remember those that perished and anyone that aids in that goal must be thanked and appreciated. Maybe someday we can live in a world where innocent people are not used as fodder by those who do not value life, people such as yourself help to get us closer to such a day. Your kind work will be my most valued add-on for MSFS for all time. Again thank you! I must also thank all of those that are out there hunting down the ones who would do such horrible things to those that they should treat as if they were family. We are all put here by God, we all just want to live as good a life as possible we should be able to resolve differences without resorting to murder. Thanks, Philip Olson

These beams were avaiable for FS2002 and I added that into FS2k4. Is this file by the same author as the old version and if so what has changed?

Thank You, from an old soldier.

The version for 2K2 used its own light beam objects (A vivid blue fading out at the top) to simulate the lights becoming more dim as they went higher. The FS9 version just uploaded uses the Luxor beam (from Las Vegas) as the spotlights. So it is not the same file adapted for FS9, and it is not the same author either (Steve Whalin - FS9, Andy Johnson - FS2k2). It is two different techniques to do similar things, and I think they both have their good and bad points.I also would like to thank both authors for their efforts. I have not put the WTC into FS9, and, with the memorial scenery package, I probably will not, as the memorial beams add that which I have been missing in a much more poignant (and accurate) manner.Brian(The following pictures are from the readme's of each file - I do not mean to emphasize one over the other)Andy Johnson's version for 2K2http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/36888.jpgSteve Whalin's version for FS9http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/36890.jpg
