September 16, 200322 yr Just ran another test. Downloaded FSUIPC 3.07 and set up the test flight again. And, the stutters were back. Definitely the stutters are caused by FSUIPC. I think Pete will get that straight pretty soon. Meanwhile, I'll be flying with only the default FS weather and ATC. Not too bad, though. It's a whole lot better now! :D
September 16, 200322 yr I have had the same problem. I get the stutters with FSUIPC installed.I can't use ActiveSky without MAJOR stutters.I am also a Radar Contact user.I have the registered version of FSUIPC and I will be glad when this gets worked out since FSUIPC is so vital to other add-ons.For now, I have removed the FSUIPC DLL, and no stutters.Scott
September 16, 200322 yr Does anybody know if there is a difference in the stutters between the registered and unregistered versions? I was thinking maybe stutters are a result of the extras from the registered version...
September 16, 200322 yr I don't think it matters.I am getting stuttering with the registered version too.Scott
September 16, 200322 yr "I don't think it matters."I agree, Scott. I got the stutters with an unregistered version.
September 17, 200322 yr I have been using FSUIPC 3.07 and AdvDisp 2.122 on my system running under the clean boot method without any problems. I use the latest build of Radar Contact without any problems either. My frame rates, locked at 40 fps, are always greater than 35 fps.Try the clean boot method -- I am becoming a disciple. September 17, 200322 yr Well, that's a really good solution if I was using XP. Unfortunately, I'm using Win 98Se... However, I do a clean boot as described. I only have 4 processes loaded up on boot and I disable two of them before I even start up FS9. I only have Systray and Explorer running. Still, if I have FSUIPC in my Modules folder, I get stutters. If I remove it completely and fly with FS9's ATC & downloaded weather, I do not get stutters. Plain and simple to me: FSUIPC is causing the stutters in my machine. Your mileage may vary.
September 17, 200322 yr Try to reset FSUIPC to default settings and do not run any external software (FSmeteo, ActiveSky, Radar Contact, etc) and try again. If you still have stutters, post a message in Peter Dowson forum, he is very helpful:http://www.forums.simflight.com/viewforum.php?f=54Ulisses
September 17, 200322 yr "Try to reset FSUIPC to default settings and do not run any external software (FSmeteo, ActiveSky, Radar Contact, etc) and try again."Not much to reset on an unregistered version. And the sim stutters with the .dll in the modules folder, whether external programs are running or not.
September 17, 200322 yr "Not much to set on the unregistered version"You might not *THINK* so, but clicking the "normal defaults" and "minimum weather defaults" buttons effects a large number of changes that the unregistered user doesn't have direct control over. I'd start with minimum defaults and see if anything changes for you. If not, try normal defaults. A description of what is set upon clicking these buttons should be in the readme.sg [email protected] | 32gb RAM | EVGA GTX1080 8gb | Mostly P3Dv5 (also IL2:BoX, DCS, XP11)
September 17, 200322 yr Sorry, Gridley, I should have been clearer in my statement. I was thinking about the numerous settings within a registered version.I have indeed tried the normal defaults and minimum weather defaults in the unregistered version. No joy.I'm not here to bash FSUIPC... I WANT it in my sim. But I get the above noted stutters with it aboard, no matter what I try, so I've removed it for the time being. Fortunately for me, I have no requirement for it at this time.Regards,
September 17, 200322 yr Commercial Member have you tried deleting the fsuipc.ini file, and let it recreate itself? JD Read my blog
September 18, 200322 yr jd, I did that when I updated my FSUIPC to v3.07. Deleted all of the 3.06 stuff from my Modules directory then installed v3.7. Started up FS and still had the stutters with FSUIPC in there. Makes it really tough to run Radar Contact much less FSMeteo. ;( There has to be something in FSUIPC causing these stutters. There not really too bad, maybe 1-2 second pauses, but it detracts from the otherwise great experience. You can only notice it if you have the Average Frame Rate showing. It shows up in the V% which is constantly changing. The stutters causes the V% to stop momentarily. Otherwise, you might not even notice the stop because the sound keeps running as does the mouse...... :-hmmmSteve
