To those who have an ASUS P4C800E deluxe

Featured Replies

Recently I purchased a ASUS P4C800e deluxe motherboard. I use voice programs such as MSN messenger, roger wilco, etc. The sound works great but I am having problem with the microphone. The first time I installed the latest drivers from the ASUS site it worked fine. Then if I shut down my computer and reload roger wilco, for example, I can hear people talk but my microphone feature isn't transmitting. If I uninstall the SoundMax digital integrated audio under the SOUND,VIDEO, and GAME CONTROLLERS and reinstall the drivers everything is back to working fine again until I reboot and use Roger Wilco again. I then have to do the process of uninstalling all over again. These programs used to work fine on my old motherboard and sound card but I am having problems with the microphone on the new motherboard. Any suggestions or remedies? Thanks guys

I've had the same board for about three weeks and have probably been overtweaking. I have not had your problem, but I finally decided that since I needed a soundcard for its gameport to use my joystick, I might as well use it, instead of SoundMax. Incidentally, when using SM, I did not have anything like the problem you describe. Are you sure that RW is configured properly for your microphone? Maybe the problem lies there...Sherm

Pretty sure sherm. I used rw lots and this problem has only happened since I got this motherboard. BTW, didn't a PCI card come with your mobo and all it has on it is the gameport connector. It did with mine. That way I didn't have to use my old SB card.
